Each year there are numerous home and garden events taking place in the UK. If you love home interiors or garden design, sometimes there’s just no substitute for getting out and about. Seeing and touching products rather than just seeing them on screen can spark your interest in surprising ways, and wandering round an exhibition can provide real inspiration. We’ve put together our list of the top ‘must visit’ home and garden events for 2020.
MARCH 2020
What: The Ideal Home Show
Where: Olympia, London
When: 27 March – 13 April
From inspiring ideas, to innovative products and on-trend solutions for your home, the Ideal Home Show brings together full scale show homes, over 600 companies, tons of free talks, the latest technology and fresh ideas from a team of experts. It’s one of the must-visit annual home and garden events.
APRIL 2020
What: RHS Flower Show Cardiff
Where: Cardiff
When: 17-19 April 2020, 10am-5pm
If gardening is your thing, then the Royal Horticultural Society shows are the creme de la creme. Visit show gardens, meet experts and pick up ideas for garden design, all at stunning locations. Cardiff is one of the first events of the year.
What: Harrogate Spring Flower Show
Where: Harrogate, North Yorkshire
When: 23 to 26 April
In addition to welcoming around 100 of the UK’s top plant nurseries, the show features the work of both established and up-and-coming garden designers and landscapers. The introduction of a new community category for Show Gardens has added further opportunities for amateur gardening groups to showcase their work to nearly 100,000 visitors and 1,000 exhibitors each year. MAY 2020 HOME AND GARDEN EVENTS
What: Grand Designs Live
Where: London ExCel arena
When: 2 to 10 May
The show, which is based on the Channel 4 series and presented by Kevin McCloud, is a rich source of inspiration for anyone interested in property renovation or DIY. You can find out more about what’s on offer at the Grand Designs Live website. There’s also a second date in October in Birmingham.

When: 7-10 May 2020

What: Clerkenwell Design Week
Where: Clerkenwell, London EC1
When: 19 to 20 May
This is the UK’s leading independent design festival, and it’s packed with a wide variety of architects, designers and interiors businesses. Clerkenwell is home to more creative businesses and architects per square mile than anywhere else on the planet, making it truly one of the most important design hubs in the world. What: The House and Garden Festival

What: Woburn Abbey Garden Show
Where: Woburn Abbey, Bedfordshire
When: 27 and 28 June
This event takes place in Woburn Abbey’s beautifully landscaped gardens, and brings together some of the best-known and loved experts including BBC Gardeners’ World presenter Adam Frost, BBC Radio 4 Gardeners’ Question Time expert, Pippa Greenwood, international florist Jonathan Moseley and renowned UK garden designer James Alexander-Sinclair. What: Ideal Home Show Christmas

If you love decorating your home with the seasons, as well as for Christmas, then this Christmas version of the Ideal Home Show is a must. The ticket price includes entry to the Eat and Drink Festival Christmas too. You can expect to find autumn and winter home inspiration, decor tips, expert advice and plenty of shopping ideas.
