Do you love scented candles? Here are some of the best scented candles to create fragrance and atmosphere in your home this summer.
Illume, Tonka Noir Enamelled Tumbler
The Tonka Noir candle by Illume not only smells divine, but is also stunning to look at.
The soy wax blend has been poured into an attractive enamelled tumbler, which has been decorated in a watercolour and ink design. We think the design is reminiscent of marble and the tumbler can be re-used when you’ve finished burning the candle.
In terms of the scent, as well as tonka bean there are top notes of mandarin, rose and jasmine, plus a base of sandalwood, musk and vanilla.
The candle burns for approximately 70 hours and is available for £21.95 from Rooi.
Village Candle, Pure Linen
The Pure Linen Village Candle is the perfect choice if you love soft and clean scents. It’s reminiscent of freshly laundered washing that has been hung out to dry and gets brought in smelling fresh and clean.
The medium (16oz) candle jar, with its two wicks, is a great size and has burn time of up to 105 hours.
Available from Village Candle for £16.99.
The Very Nature, Intense Frangipani
When they say ‘intense’, they’re not kidding. If you love the idea of the air being heavily scented with the rich scent of exotic frangipani flowers, then this is the candle for you.
The Intense Frangipani scented candle is encased in a vibrant pink glass that provides a real burst of colour. As well as frangipani, the scent has notes of lemon, jasmine and orange blossom on a woody base of sweet vanilla and musk. It reminds us of holidays in exotic places and long hot summer days.
Hand poured in England, the candle has a burn time of approximately 40 hours.
Available from The Very Nature for £20.
Paddywax, Prism Fresh Air
Small in size, but oh so gorgeous in scent, the Paddywax Fresh Air candle is one of those must-have candle scents that we can’t imagine ever getting fed up of, as it’s light, fresh and not overpowering.
Part of the Prism range, the candle is nicely styled in a glass hexagonal design jar, which is inspired by the design of cut gems, with a little cork lid that you can pop back on when it’s not in use.
As the name suggests, the candle evokes the scent of fresh air, with notes of white flowers.
Available from Rooi for £12.95.
Harley & Lola, English Rose Glass Candle
Harley & Lola’s English Rose glass candle is a great choice if you love floral scents.
The hand poured 100% natural soy wax candle comes in a recyclable glass jar and a recycled cardboard tube. The rose scent is beautiful and will transport you to a beautiful rose garden – it’s a great fragrance for the summer.
The candle burns for approximately 40 hours and is available from Harley & Lola for £21.
Paddywax, Botany Blue Coral and Driftwood
The Paddywax Blue Coral and Driftwood candle is part of the Botany range of candles and is hand-poured in the US from soy wax. The scent name – blue coral and driftwood – implies that it’s going to be a beachy, ocean-style scent. It’s not exactly as we expected, as it seems quite floral and heady – it’s more a fragrance of an exotic beach surrounded by scented trees and flowers than an English one!
The 2.5oz candle is in a decorative blue and white design tin and burns for approximately 15 hours. It’s a nice little candle to take away with you when travelling, so you can scent a hotel room, holiday home or caravan with your favourite fragrance.
Available from Rooi for £8.95.
