You can’t go wrong with a classic white towel, but we have to admit we do like a touch of design too, so were pleased to discover the Diamond Jacquard towels.
The towels feature a detailed jacquard border in a diamond geometric design which is certainly eye-catching. The towels are all finished off with a tassled fringe, which is something a bit different.
We love the design of these towels and the grey colour is a great choice for a contemporary bathroom. To be honest, we wouldn’t normally choose a towel with tassels, so it will be interesting to see how the longevity of these towels is and whether they wash well over time. Hopefully the tassles will stay intact and remain in good shape.
The luxury jacquard towels are available in three sizes – hand towel, bath towel and bath sheet – and are priced from £5 to £15 each. As well as grey, the design is also available in mauve and peppermint.
It’s nice to be able to have a matching bath mat too, to finish off the look. The diamond jacquard bath mat has a slightly raised diamond texture and is hand-woven in India.
The bath mat coordinates well with the towels and we particularly like the fact that it has eco and environmental credentials. It’s made from natural cotton fibre and meets the European Oekotex 100 Standard (no, we’d not heard of that before either), which ensures no harmful chemicals or dyes are used in production.
The diamond jacquard bath mat is normally priced at £30, but is currently reduced down to £16.
We’re all for a good bit of mixing and matching, so when one mat is in the wash, another grey option is the Newbury chenille bath mat. This bath mat is extra soft and made from a silky fibre and ticks all our boxes for a super soft treat for our feet.
We liked the slip-resistant backing, which noticeably helped the bath mat stay in position on the tiled floor, rather than moving as you step onto it, as some mats can do. What’s more, it seems to dry very quickly after getting wet (even after a good soaking), which is a definite bonus.
Another nice geometric themed design are the Madrid Jacquard Towels. These towels are made in Portugal from 100% cotton and are designed to be ultra absorbent.
Again, they’re available in three sizes and there’s a matching Madrid bath mat available too (the bath mat is £18).
The white geometric design works well on top of the plain background of the luxury jacquard towels and mat. This colourway is described as duck egg, although we feel it’s maybe a bit more of a peppermint. If this doesn’t float your boat, there’s a nice blush pink or grey available too.
The Madrid towels start at £6 for a hand towel, £12 for a bath towel and £18 for a bath sheet. We like the fact that with all the towels you can buy them individually, rather than having to have a complete towel bale, as it means you can buy exactly how many towels of each size that you actually need.
