In any home, the bathroom is an important place. It is far more than somewhere to wash up and get ready for the day. Most people use it as a space to relax and unwind. They love nothing better than taking a long bath or shower and washing away the stresses of the day.
Naturally, people want their bathrooms to be a nice place to be. There are lots of ways to do this. Most of the ideas below are quick and easy to implement, which makes them ideal for doing on a Saturday morning before you get on with enjoying your weekend.
Mirrors
Bathroom mirrors are a great way to brighten up a dull, dark room. They capture the natural light that does get in and reflect it back into the room. There are plenty available, so whether you want to create chic French or a minimalist Scandinavian style bathroom you can find a mirror that works.
Lights that can be dimmed
The right lighting is important in any room. It plays a big part in how practical the space is and makes a big contribution to the overall ambience. Generally, in a bathroom, dimmable light fittings are the best option. In the morning, when you are shaving or putting on your makeup you need good lighting to be able to see what you are doing properly. But you do not want bright lights when you are soaking in the tub. Dimmable lights are much safer than candles. They give you the option to turn them up so you can read in the bath.
A couple of nice plants
Adding a nice big plant to the corner of your bathroom is a great way to brighten it up. Studies show that being exposed to natural greenery is very beneficial for you. It gives them a lift mentally and plants really do help to cleanse the air in the home. The more plants you have in your house, the better it is for you. This article explains which plants thrive in the steamy environment of a bathroom.
Deep clean
No matter how clean you are, dirt inevitably builds up in the little nooks and crannies. For example, along the edge of the shower screen or underneath it can get really dirty, so always be aware of these places and make sure you clean them regularly (worse comes to the worse you will need to replace this if you can’t get it clean). This will stop grime building up, so your bathroom always looks pristine. It will prevent mould and rust from damaging your fixtures and fittings.
A touch of colour
Adding a little more colour to a room is a great way of brightening it up. You do not have to go over the top. It can be as simple as using a colourful blind and buying some new towels to match.
Declutter
Cluttered spaces can easily end up looking a bit grungy. Just tidying up a bit can make a huge difference to how bright your bathroom looks. Get a plastic tub and load it up with all of those beauty products that you rarely use. You can then just slide it under the bed. That way nothing goes to waste and you can easily find everything you need.

Great tips indeed. Colour matching with other things will make a great impact.
Patterns also go a long way to making a bathroom brighter, and work especially well in smaller bathrooms as they provide a depth of space that can be quite deceptive!
