Christmas is literally just around the corner now, and for many of us that means there are a huge number of things to do before the big day arrives. Whether this is wrapping up those last minute gifts, giving the house a spring clean or putting those final touches to your festive menus, there seems like far too much to do and far too little time left to do it all.
The good news is that there are some kitchen electricals that could come in very handy over the Christmas period and will help to save you some valuable time.
1. Electric Kettle

Arguably the single most important small electrical appliance in any kitchen in the UK, it is in fact estimated that 96% of households own a kettle. Whilst there is no doubt that your kettle will be pressed into action on Christmas day to make cups of tea, coffee or even hot chocolate for your guests, it can also be ideal for saving you some time when it comes to preparing Christmas dinner. You can boil the water for your vegetable in the kettle and then transfer it to a pan to bring it up to temperature. This can shave some time off your final preparation when you are doing all of those last minute jobs that require you to be everywhere in your kitchen.
2. Air fryer

The humble air fryer, which has become the stalwart of many kitchens in the last couple of years, was only invented in 2005, and it took a good few more years before it became the popular kitchen essential that we know today. Over Christmas, an air fryer in your kitchen can be invaluable as an additional cooking space. It’s a surprisingly good way of cooking a range of things like stuffing balls, pigs in blankets or even your roast potatoes. This frees up valuable oven space and makes cooking your Christmas dinner just a little bit easier.
3. Stand mixer

Whilst you may not use a stand mixer all of the time, it is one of those pieces that makes a great investment for your kitchen. If you have ever whisked cream by hand then you will know that it can take a considerable time. A stand mixer with a whisk attachment makes light work of this task. It’s also great for making cakes, meringues, and a wide range of desserts. If you have the right type of stand mixer there are also some incredible time saving attachments that you can buy.
4. Electric carving knife

Whether you are just serving the traditional turkey or you like to offer your guests a choice of roasted meats on the Christmas table, an electric carving knife will make the task of carving a much simpler and faster one. Whilst this may not be a kitchen electrical that you will use very often, at Christmas it really will help you to save time.
5. Coffee Machine

A great cup of coffee is the perfect way to finish your Christmas dinner and a good quality coffee machine is another great investment for your kitchen. Whether you prefer the flexibility of a pod machine or the depth of flavour that can be achieved with a dedicated bean to cup machine, there are some truly fantastic choices out there. They will make a great cup of coffee in a very short space of time whilst you do a few other small jobs.
If you do have a coffee machine that you plan on using over Christmas don’t forget to stock up on pods or coffee beans so that you don’t run out.
