One of the nice things about January is, that once the sales are all over and the last of the Christmas products are gone from the shelves, there are lots of fresh new finds to discover. As stores have been bringing out their latest homeware accessories, we’ve been enjoying looking out for new finds. We’re always fond of anything a bit unusual and different, so here’s our guide to the latest fresh new finds in quirky home accessories.
Rattan penguin basket
Kicking off our fresh new finds for 2020 is this rattan penguin basket. This gorgeous penguin has been beautifully styled from rattan, with his black feathers, beady eye and bright yellow beak painted on. We’re sure both big and little kids would love to pop their treasures inside for safe keeping and a clutter-free home.
Lily pad leaf wall art
If you’re looking to make an impact on your wall, look no further than this stunning lily pad leaf wall art. Handmade from iron and finished in an attractive soft gold colour, this large piece of wall art is a wonderful 3D design that will draw the eye in. What’s more, it can be hung in several ways, so you can choose the way that works best for your needs. It’s available from Audenza.
Flamboyant pink ostrich feather tree
We hadn’t expected to come across a piece like this on our shop browsing mission, but now we’ve found it, we can’t get it out of our minds! This largeĀ pink ostrich feather tree is a flamboyant sculpture for your home and is available from Rockett St George. Styled on a palm tree, the floor standing tree has a gold base that works wonderfully well with the light pink of the ostrich feathers. It’s a stunning piece, although it does come with a slightly eye-watering price tag. Still, it would look truly marvellous in the right interior setting.
Bronze palmistry knobs
This definitely fits the bills for one of those fresh new finds you never knew you needed! This pair of quirky palmistry knobs will certainly add a new dimension to your drawers or cupboards. They’re made of brass and bronze in colour and come as a pair, one of which is moulded into an ‘OK’ hand gesture.
Fresh new finds: Balancing elephant tray
Isn’t this elephant tray rather fun? This quirky bronze elephant is balancing on two legs, holding up the upper level of the tray effortlessly. You could use it as a cake plate – fondant fancies would look oh so tempting perched on the upper level – or use it a dressing table or trinket tray. It’s made of handpainted porcelain and is available online only at Anthropologie.
Quirky foot statue
Foot fetish, anyone?! If you’ve always loved feet, now you can own your very own super eccentric foot statue. Based on a classic design and created to replicate antique white stone, the foot statue is made from resin and marble powder and comes mounted on its very own stand. This is one of those fresh new finds that’s sure to become a talking point in your home!
