Add a splash of fun and colour to your home with this bright lizard cushion, designed and made in Tanzania. It’s made from bright vintage fabric with bead and appliqué detail, finished with brightly coloured piping. 5. Plain large velvet cushion in royal blue, Cult Furniture

‘Bright’ doesn’t have to mean ‘busy’ or ‘fussy’ if that’s not your thing – these plain velvet cushions, £29, come in a range of colours and are perfect for adding warmth and texture. Mix the colours up for a cheerful effect. Available from Cult Furniture.
6. Blue blooming cushion, Mint and May

Add a focal point to your sofa with this floral fantasy cushion in shades of blue. This would look great piled up with plain cushions on a sofa, or on its own on an armchair. £29.95, available from Mint and May.

This unusual cushion will definitely brighten up a room. Designed and printed in Sweden, the simple circle and leaf fabric is bold, bright and fun with a strong Scandi retro feel. 8. Colourful bunting cushion cover, The Elephant Head

This colourful and vibrant bunting patterned cushion cover has been hand embroidered by artisans from the charity Aham Bhumika in Bhopal, India. It measures 16″ by 16″ and costs £16.50 from The Elephant Head.
