The chances are you know at least one person who loves candles and home fragrance products and, when it comes to Christmas or other special events, scented products for the home make great gift ideas.
We’ve had the pleasure of discovering some brilliant new scented products this year, so here’s a round-up of our six favourites for gifting.
Monsoon candles and scented diffusers
Monsoon has recently launched a new range of scented candles and room diffusers which are nicely designed and ideal to give as gifts. The candles come in square glass jars, with a decorative metallic round Monsoon emblem on the front and a lid on the top. Similarly, the diffusers are in small glass decorative jars with the same emblem design on the front.
The metallic colour of the emblems and lids differs according to the fragrance chosen, but the Seaspray & Cotton option is in silver. This particular fragrance is billed as a ‘fresh marine’ scent and it certainly is very clean, fresh and uplifting. The scent lasts well and, the diffuser in particular, seems to fill a room constantly with fragrance.
Both the candles and diffusers cost £17 each from Monsoon.
Chase & Wonder Illustrated Scent candle
The Illustrated Scent range of luxury candles from Chase & Wonder are mini art masterpieces in their own right. Each hand-poured glass candle features an attractive black, white and gold design, together with a matching box. The Flower Lady candle is bursting with the aroma of red rose petals, cassis, wild berries and galbanum and the lady in the design has flowers in her hair.
The candles are well made, beautifully presented and highly scented. The candles cost £28 each from Chase & Wonder.
Sara Miller London home fragrance
Sara Miller London introduced a new home fragrance range earlier this year, including candles and diffusers, and it hasn’t disappointed. The packaging and candle designs are all stunning with their attractive patterns and gold detailing, and there are some unusual and sophisticated fragrance combinations to try.
The candles cost £25 each and the diffusers are £28.
Paddywax Prism scented candle
Small in size, but powerful in scent, the Paddywax Prism range of candles are artistically designed in hexagonal glass jars that are that perfect balance of ‘just a bit different’. The white Fresh Air scent is gorgeous and ideal if you’re not entirely sure exactly which fragrance your recipient would prefer.
The prism candles are £12.95 each from Rooi.
Cello electric wax melt burner
The Cello electric wax melt burner is a great gift idea for anyone who loves scented candles, but worries about having candles burning. This gorgeous copper melt burner runs on electric and doubles up as an attractive light. Read more details in our previous review.
The melt burner costs £29.99 from Village Candle and there’s a great range of candle melts that can be used with it.
Harley & Lola scented candles
The hand poured soy wax candles from Harley & Lola are available in a choice of six fragrances, including English Rose, Honeysuckle & Jasmine and Vanilla & Orange.
The mini candles in tins (£9.95) are perfect for stocking fillers, but there are larger glass jar candles available too in the same scents for £21 each.
The designs on these candles are just gorgeous. I tend to buy books based on their covers, and now I think I might have to do the same with candles (whether I like the scent or not!). My favorite has to be the Chase and Wonder Illustrated candle. Just beautiful!
Sure these design are really awesome.
The Chase & Wonder ones are beautiful! I love candles where you can keep the pot after – I tend to use them for make-up brushes! x
I basically have a diffuser in every room of my house. I could not function without them.
Every one of those candles is gorgeous! I love the prizm candle.
I’m in love with those illustrated scent candles and the monsoon ones look beautiful too! Some great recommendations here, thank you.
i love candles and these are so pretty to look at and i bet they smell amazing too
Stunning packaging on these candles! Great gifts for the holidays!
They’re all beautiful but I think the Prism is my fave, a little bit different to stand out.
I’m going mad for candles at the moment with this cold winter weather, the house smelling of Christmas is the only thing dragging me through it! I’ve found it pays to spend a bit more too! These look lovely!
Cello electric wax melt burner… ooh it’s awesome
Lovely candle designs! It’s great to see some really unique and innovative ways of complementing a great scent with art like the gorgeous Chase and Wonder range!
I use the wax melt burners at my house. I love it!
Creating a signature scent for your home is such an underrated part of creating a welcoming environment, as an added bonus these candles are beautifully decorative in their own right! Great post.
I think I’m in love with the cello electric wax melter! That’s beautiful!
