Velvet is one of those Marmite textures – you either love it, or hate it. If you love it, you’re in good company, as we do too and velvet furniture is one of the top trends this year (if you hate it, then you best move along quickly, as there’s lots coming up…!).
Where to buy velvet furniture
Here are some of our favourite places to buy velvet furniture, from chairs and sofas, to footstools and ottomans.
Oliver Bonas
Oliver Bonas have got their velvet furniture down to a tee. They’ve got a collection of furniture, including tub chairs, two seater sofas, footstools and ottomans, which are all upholstered in top quality velvet fabric from Designers Guild. What’s more, each piece is available in a choice of 14 sumptuous colours, so there’s bound to be something to suit you. The cloud chairs, for example, are super laid back and ultra comfortable with their velvet upholstery.
Their Le Cocktail footstool, shown here in a calming shade of duck egg, is a great size to use as occasional seating.
Graham & Green
Graham and Green have a lovely selection of velvet furniture too and, again, in a veritable rainbow of colours. What’s more, there are furniture designs to suit all styles and tastes. We particularly like their Deep Dream sofa, with its mid-century modern styling by designer, Jamie Graham – a matching chair and footstool is available in the same design.
Their Enya relaxing chair looks absolutely perfect too – we would have no problem relaxing on it!
Swoon Editions
Another great place to find velvet furniture is Swoon Editions. They’ve got chairs, sofas, footstools and even beds upholstered in a range of luxurious velvet fabrics. The Vincent tub chair, with its mid-century square design, is a lovely piece for a contemporary home.
If Scandi design is more your style, then check out the Hagen hex ottoman. Produced in a beautiful hexagonal design, the piece is available in a choice of velvet fabrics, including this zingy orange.

Rose & Grey
Finally, another go-to place on our top list for velvet furniture suppliers is Rose & Grey. They’ve got a great line in occasional chairs, snuggle seats, dining chairs and various designs of sofas, including Regency and Chesterfield styles
Their handcrafted three seater velvet Chesterfield is a sofa to behold, with its button back space to unwind, and and we adore the rich emerald green option.
In terms of occasional chairs, we can’t help but love the revival of the 366 Easy Chair designed by Jozef Chierowski. The velvet upholstery works so well against the sleek wooden chair frame and the chili pepper is a great combination against the light wood.

I love velvet! I’d happily give any of these a space in my home but I’ll have to agree with Karen that 366 easy chair is stunning.
I was just looking for a velvet armchairs after reading another post – and boom – here is a whole shopping list. I love the OB ones the most.
Oh I adore velvet furniture – always have! I’ve got one of the Oliver Bonas love tubs in yellow and a Chesterfield in olive green – oh and Made.com have some nice ones as well. Just got a lovely grey velvet arm chair from them! This is a great selection – I’ll have one of each please! Ha! xx
Lots of beautiful selections. I have a green velvet one from Habitat which I absolutely love. Velvet is so comfortable and cosy to sit on.
A distinctive, perfectly shaped design coupled with gorgeous velvet upholstery – the Enya relaxing chair certainly promises the ultimate in laid-back comfort! Really pleased to see velvet is very much back in vogue, as I’ve always been a fan.
