If you love the ethnic or tribal home trend, and like to support worthwhile causes, TK Maxx have a treat in store for you!
TK Maxx, together with their sister store HomeSense, are selling a special range of hand-crafted homewares from Uganda, which they’re calling Tribal Treasures. All the items have been made by remote communities in the war torn Rwenzori region of Western Uganda and are part of an initiative that helps disadvantaged families earn an income so they can send their children to school to get a valuable education.
The homeware items include some beautiful bowls, plates, storage baskets, chunky glassware, blankets and boxes. They all feature vibrant colours, careful handiwork and have a real ethnic vibe to them.
The items in the tribal treasures range are sold under the Rwenzori Trading Company brand and are available to buy now in store or online from TKMaxx.com.
TK Maxx has been involved with working in Uganda since 2008 and has helped over 10,000 children go to school. Since 2011, they’ve seen a 40% increase in the number of children finishing primary school education, so it seems to be working.
So if you’re looking to buy some special pieces for your home, or to give as a gift, why not consider supporting this worthy cause? The items will only be available for a limited time, so snap them up whilst you can.
