Cork is making a comeback. Not wine bottle corks (they’ve not gone away), but cork as a material used in homes and interior design.
For a while, it was very old hat and shunned by some. Of course, the good old classic cork boards, cork tablemats and coasters are still available, but now furniture, home accessories and even fabrics made from cork are increasingly in popularity.
Here’s a selection of five homeware products made from cork that would look right at home in a contemporary house.
This gorgeously designed Atlas table, with its sleek and minimal design, is produced by Mind The Cork and features a lovely round cork top. It’s made to order.

I loved Ilse Crawford’s Sinnerlig collection for Ikea last year, bringing cork into mainstream design. It’s such a warm, natural material. Lovely selections here Rachel. I had no idea you could make fabric from cork though. That cushion is gorgeous!
Ah, I knew there was a collection I’d had on my mind that I wanted to mention, but I couldn’t think what it was – thank you for the reminder!
I’m really loving cork as a material just now – so many interesting designs utilising it, especially in ‘textile’ form like that cushion. Great eco credential too 🙂
The eco aspect is a good selling point.
Oh that cushion is gorgeous! How cool! And I’m loving that pink vase as well. I love how much texture cork brings in, great roundup 🙂 xx
Yes, it’s definitely great on the texture front.
Absolutely love the bar stools! Great find.
Thanks
That clock is so cute! I’m definitely in favour of a cork comeback.
Long-live cork! 😉
Gosh, who knew cork could be so sexy! You’re right, it was considered really dated not so long ago, but these designs are fantastic and give it a truly cool edge. Thanks for sharing!
Im a big fan of cork! Love the natural texture… Those bar stools are brilliant
Glad you like them!
I like the cushion, but overall I struggle with cork. I think the wall my ex-in-laws had covered in it scarred me for life 🙂 #homeinterest
