Did you know that a simple change such as switching your light bulbs to LEDs could help you save up to £30 a month on your lighting bills?
It’s true and it’s definitely a switch worth considering if you want to save money in your home.
About LED light bulbs
LED light bulbs used to be a more expensive option, but as technology and design have improved and they’ve become a more widely used option, the price has gradually fallen too. Sure, some bulbs are still more expensive than standard lightbulbs, but they should last a lot longer.
When you’re buying an LED light bulb, you need to get the right fit for your existing fittings, as well as choose the shape and brightness that you’d like. It can be a bit of a minefield at first – especially as you may have several different light fittings in your home – but it’s worth the effort.
To help you choose which type of bulb you need for the fittings you already have, LED Hut have put together a handy guide to use:
The brightness of the bulbs varies, but you can easily choose which one is right for you by looking at the number of Lumens in the product guide. They’re either marked as standard, bright or extra bright. Different bulbs offer different beam angles too – some have a wide beam, whilst others are narrower.
The bulbs are available in different colours too, so you can choose the most appropriate option for the mood you want to create. White bulbs aren’t just white either – there are up to three different shades of white to choose in some cases. You can opt for cool white, warm white or a daytime white.
LED decorative home accessories
It’s not just standard light bulbs that benefit from LED technology – so too do decorative home and garden products.
LED Hut have a selection of lighting ideas to use indoors and out. We love their indoor branch lights – pretty LED lights scattered along branches – that you can display in a vase in your home. They look lovely used in the evening and could be a useful extra addition to seasonal lighting.
The flower lights, with warm white lighting, are particularly pretty and great for adding atmosphere to a room. They run on batteries, so you don’t need to fiddle around finding a place to put them near an electrical socket.
Another great idea are their real wax LED candles. They look just like real candles, with a burning flame effect, but are actually powered by batteries and a remote control. We think the set with melted edges looks most realistic and effective.
They’re a great idea if you’ve got children or pets, and can’t leave candles burning. And at only £11.51 for a set of three, you really can’t go wrong!
