Designer Ella Doran has produced a range of products new in store at Habitat.
The Indiantale products do as the name suggests, and focus on Indian imagery and colours. They’re vibrant, bright and colourful and exceedingly affordable too.
All of the Indiantale products are made from hard-wearing melamine, so they’d be fantastic for outdoor entertaining or picnics, as well as being used in your home.
The patterned Indiantale plate is £2.50, the jungle themed cup is £1.50 and the plain cerise pink bowl (we’re thinking it would be perfect as a salad bowl) is £1.50 from Habitat.

 Melamine tray
You can never have enough trays in your kitchen as they’re useful for so many occasions.
Big trays that you can pile everything on are great, but it’s also useful to have some smaller ones handy for serving afternoon tea or popping a few cakes or biscuits on when you’re entertaining.
This fun and funky tray is described as a ‘dessert tray’ and measures 15 inches by 6 inches in size. It’s made of hard-wearing melamine and features a long white dachshund dog against a multi-coloured stripe background.
You’ll find the happy hot dog tray in stock at Hunkydory Home.

 Handy herb planter
Having fresh herbs growing on your windowsill, or just outside your back door, means you can cut and snip off fresh herbs to use as you’re cooking. This great little planter pot, made by Royal VKB, is ideal for growing herbs and even comes complete with a pair of scissors tucked in a little pouch at the side, so you never need rush around looking for scisssors to cut your herbs.
The pot is made of melamine, so is hard wearing, and you can either plant your own herbs directly into it, or pop in shop bought fresh herbs in pots if you wish (and no-one need know, if they get all bushy and hide the pots!).
The Royal VKB herb garden planter is available from various retailers, including House of Fraser, Made in Design and Stylish Life, but the best buy is at All Up and On, as they currently have 17% off the price.

If you’re dining outside or planning on going on a picnic, then melamine plates and serving dishes are the sensible option.
They’re durable and practical and won’t suffer too much if accidentally dropped (and we’ve all had one of those dropping moments when eating outside). Plus, there are some really stylish melamine sets available these days.
Take the Quest Tulip Melamine set, for example. Available as a 16-piece tableware set, it comes with four dinner plates, four tea plates, four bowls and four mugs and, rather than the usual round, its styled as a fashionable square design. The set is available from Amazon.
