Are you an individual or group with an amazing, wild or wacky DIY project on the go? If the answer is ‘yes’, The Amazing Making Of wants to hear from you!
The Amazing Making Of is a new web series and associated competition to find the most extreme and inventive DIY projects. It’s being run by ManoMano – the online marketplace dedicated to all things DIY & gardening
Aptly launched on International DIY Day (24th May 2018), the Amazing Making Of is looking for five makers, inventors and creators across Europe (in the UK, Italy, France, Spain and Germany) to be filmed producing the project of their lives.
If you’ve been inspired to embark on a wild DIY project by programmes such as DIY SOS or Grand Designs, are happy to think outside the box, try something new and tackle problems along the way, and fancy the idea of becoming an online star, you’re likely to be the kind of person the series is looking for.
Maybe you’re busy creating an unusual floating roof garden, a house on wheels or an upside-down home décor scheme? Whatever amazing project you have on the go (and the projects must be in progress, not simply a vague idea), The Amazing Making Of wants to hear from you.
The UK winner will receive £5000 to spend on DIY tools and materials at ManoMano.co.uk, plus they will be filmed and featured on the new The Amazing Making Of web series. The series begins filming this summer and the episodes will be aired on YouTube from September 2018.
A specially selected jury will choose the winning UK project. Judges include Alex Steele, the famous British YouTube blacksmith, and Steve Collinge, industry expert from Insight DIY Group.
The competition is open for entries until 24th June 2018, so get your skates on and enter now!
After deliberating all the entries, one winner will be chosen from each country (the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain) and announced publicly on 2nd July 2018.
Philippe de Chanville and Christian Raisson, Founders of ManoMano, say, ”We’re championing the weird, the wacky and the most inventive project ideas that the UK has to offer with the launch of The Amazing Making Of series. We’re eagerly awaiting entries to see just how inventive the UK can be!”
If you think you’ve got what it takes to wow the judges, enter the details of your project now at www.theamazingmakingof.co.uk

This looks amazing, sadly though not something I feel I could do. My grandfather, father and brothers are all expert craftsmen and would love this.

I can paint, but DIY I leave to the man of the house because he is trained in that department. I will pass it on to the man of the house 🙂

I would totally watch a series that features submissions for this competition. What a great idea!
Kim B Smith says
This looks great, however, I hire out. 🙂

This sounds great, unfortunately I am useless at DIY! It’s one of those things I always say I’m going to learn and never seem to get round to and I constantly watch YouTube videos on makeovers and DIY projects!

What a great way to call the community together and have them participate in such an event. I am seeing the right and perfect souls step for for this inspiring program.

This looks so fun (although far out of what I can do myself! Ha) and can’t wait to see what the entries are like!

That’s a hell of a prize! I do sometimes wonder if my husband is good enough for something like this. He’s done some amazing projects over the past few years! Amazing what you can achieve when you just give it a try x

I wish I had a wacky project underway but sadly I’ll just have to wait to see the entries. Could be interesting 🙂

Exciting idea! Will you let us know about the winning project?

Oh my hubby would love this. He is the DIY King !
Stacey Sheppard says
This sounds like such an exciting project. If I was any good at DIY at all I’d love to enter.

Ooo, this is so interesting. I’ve promised the kiddos that we will transform the wood shed in to a club house for them during the summer holidays. My skills are probably somewhat lacking in comparison to what ManoMano is looking for though.
