At Fresh Design Blog, we love all things quirky and unusual…but in terms different, this has got to be one of the most unusual ways of creating art that we’ve featured so far.
Pop culture artist, Nathan Wyburn, who found fame on Britain’s Got Talent, was commissioned to create a large piece of artwork for the newly engaged royal couple, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. But anyone familiar with Wyburn’s previous work will know only too well that he doesn’t do things the conventional way.
Some of Nathan’s previous art work has included singer Mariah Carey produced in glitter and Donald Trump made out of tacos. In this case, Nathan used a dirty carpet stained with mud, coffee and red wine and three bottles of the Which? Best Buy Dr Beckmann Carpet Stain Remover.
Normally Nathan creates his art by adding unusual products to a base layer, but in this case he had to reverse the process and remove layers of dirt in order to create the artwork.
Here he is in action:
The finished portrait, aptly titled called ‘Love Cleans Up’, measures 12ft by 16ft and took just one day to complete. You can see from the image below just how large it is.
Who knew carpet cleaner could be quite so creative?!
So, what do you think – is it a good likeness of the romantic pair? And have you ever created art using any unusual methods?

I am not much of an artist and certainly not with unusual items. I think it would be unrecognizable.
