Quick fix living room soft furnishings update

Published March 2, 2013 · Updated July 25, 2017 · By Rachel Newcombe Leave a Comment

Update your living room for less

Our love of cushions is no secret and if you’re looking for a quick and relatively inexpensive way of updating a tired looking living room for spring, then changing your cushions is always a good bet.

New cushions can help introduce different colours to a room, add patterns, tone with an existing colour palette and freshen up the look of a sofa.

If you’ve already got cushions in use and the cushion pads are still in good shape, then rather than buying a whole new cushion, an easy way of saving money and updating your room for less is to simply invest in new cushion covers.

There are a wide variety of cushion covers available from high street retailers, with covers typically costing between £8 and £15 each. Or, if you’re a dab hand with a sewing machine and have found fabric you love, you could even have a go at making some yourself.
