 Colour swatch inspired clock
At Fresh Design Blog we love a good contemporary wall clock and this Watch Me wall clock from Normann Copenhagen is up there amongst our favourites.
The simplistic clock design is inspired by swatches of colour that fan out to produce an eye-catching mix of colours and it’s available in a choice of different colour shades.
The clock was designed by Danish designer Rasmus Gottliebsen for Normann Copenhagen. As we can often be found drooling over paint and wallpaper colour swatches, the design seems very apt for us!
The Watch Me wall clock is available from various retailers, including Caroline McGrath, who sell it for £35.

Find the words to tell the time
This is a bit of a novelty item, but this word search clock could be a fun timepiece for a child’s room.
When the clock first arrives, you have to find the numbers to help tell the time – by circling them, you’ll create a typical clock face layout.
In addition, there are 14 other words hidden in the word search, which children will enjoy spotting.
The good news is the clock is a bit of a bargain! It was £31.99, but is now reduced to £12.79 at Firebox.

 Stunning clock
This stunning Black and Black clock by Diamantini and Domeniconi is a fabulous example of how functional clocks can become stunning pieces of wall art.
The clock is dramatic and would be a great feature on a wall. The bold design is made up of geometric patterns, almost forming into flower shapes at one point.
The Italian designed clock is made of powder coated steel and measures 70cm in diameter.
If you’re like to hang this Black and Black clock on your wall, then head over to Red Candy, where it’s priced at £95.

 Scissor design wall clock
It’s great to find home decor products that are both functional and decorative and this fun scissors design wall clock is just that.
Part funky wall art, and part a time-telling device, the design of this clock is really unusual and is sure to catch people’s attention when it’s on your wall.
The clock is laser cut from brushed stainless steel and has a contemporary look and finish. The numbers twelve, three, six and nine are emblazoned across the ‘blades’ of the scissors and the handles and the clock has a high quality quartz movement in the centre that will tell the time accurately.
The stainless steel scissors wall clock is available to purchase from Housebling for £69.
In addition to this clock, they sell other contemporary steel items, including a lovely spiral wall clock and

 Bicycle wheel wall clock
The wheels of time have turned – and this old bicycle wheel has been upcycled to give it a new life, as a trendy clock!
The reconditioned and re-engineered bicycle wheel has been transformed into a wall clock by Andrew Fitzgerald, an artist and designer from Hertfordshire, who runs Vyconic.
The bicycle wheel clock is mounted directly onto the wall, through the centre of the wheel, which creates an impression that the clock is floating on the wall. The time-telling ability is achieved through the use of a Karlsson clock mechanism, positioned in the centre of the wheel. The spokes of the wheel naturally lend themselves to looking perfectly at home on the face of a clock.
Whether you’re a fan of cycling, or just like unusual clocks, you can order an upcycled bicycle wheel clock from Vyconic (they are made to order) for £99.
Check out other weird and wonderful clock ideas featured previously on Fresh Design Blog!

Remember the functioning Big Ben wall clock sticker that we featured previously? If you liked the idea, but don’t quite have the wall space to accommodate it, then here’s another take on the design that may appeal, as it’s smaller and more compact.
This version of the Big Ben wall clock wall sticker focuses on just the clock face, rather than the whole tower too. The sticker comes with a clock mechanism that can be attached to the wall first, so that you end up with a fully functioning wall clock.
The sticker forms the clock face – it comes in two halves – and you simply surround the clock with the relevant parts, making sure the numbers are the right way around to be able to tell the time!
As an added addition, there’ s a little cow sticker with a complementary design that comes with the set too, which can be used alongside the clock or elsewhere.
The Big Ben wall clock wall sticker set is available to purchase from John Lewis and costs £25.

 Colourful clock
This bright and vibrant multicoloured clock not only looks great hung on the wall, but it’s also ultra flat and quiet too.
If you don’t like loud ticking clocks, then this is the perfect clock for you, as it features a ‘whisper-quiet stepping movement.’ The hours and minutes throughout the day are represented by different colours on the clock face and it’s a striking design to liven up a plain wall.
Thomas Bucheim’s ultra flat wall clock is available to buy from Urban Outfitters for £45.

 Wow factor clock
Italian designers Diamantini and Domeniconi are renowned for producing amazing clocks (like their modern funky striped cuckoo clock that we’ve featured before) and the ‘&’ design wall clock is another fantastic example of their work that I’d love to have on my wall.
The & clock is as much a piece of wall art as it is a functional timepiece. The 70cm diameter clock is made from two pieces of cutwork, lacquered metal – one in white, and one in grey – and was first designed and created for Diamantini and Domeniconi by Juan Carlos Viso in 2008.
The cutwork design looks very effective and is based on the idea of infinite patterns, that go on and on, without seeming to end.
The Diamantini and Domeniconi & clock can be purchased at Mooch (it’s made to order), where it’s priced at £185.
For more details about the design and a complete list of all the Diamantini and Domeniconi clock designs, have a look at their website.
