 Create your own collage
I’m on the lookout for a nice large frame, suitable for holding multiple pictures, so was pleased to come across this collage frame from Next.
It’s in a lovely deep chocolate colour and holds up to 11 photos, of differing sizes.
The collage effect is a bit of a change from some of the frames which simply hold multiple photos, as they look a bit less regimented and formal and look good on the wall.
This one, that Next are calling the chocolate large box collage, is priced at £40.

 Creative heart art
This is a great piece of art by Brigitte Herod and one that could easily be replicated if you haven’t got £175 spare to purchase it.
The heart is made from lots of little button badges, all sourced from the 1960s, 70s, 80s and 90s, and if you look closely, you’re sure to pick out badge images that you remember from your past.
The picture is framed in a white box frame and looks great from a distance, as well as close up.
To own the original, pop over to Rockett St George and snap it up.
But if you happen to have a load of old badges stashed away in your cupboard, perhaps you could have a go at creating your own wall art?

As wall art goes, this three panel metal butterfly creation is very effective.
The dark metal panels, which measure 76cm in height, are decorated with copper blossomed tree branches and metalic butterflies.
There’s a lovely element of depth to it and the butterflies almost look like they’re about to fly away.
It’s a stunning piece and the metal panels give a modern feel to it.
You can buy the butterfly wall art from Belle Home for £95.

The new autumn / winter catalogue from John Lewis thudded onto our desk recently. It’s packed with hundreds of interesting home ideas, but the pages that caught our eye were the pictures and wall art.
In particular, there are some stunning floral art pictures available.
The blue poppy high quality print on canvas, by fine artist Adelene Fletcher, is big and bold, yet offers a wonderful insight into the delicateness of the poppy. Shown in full bloom, it would tone in well with rooms decorated in natural colours or deck egg blue.
The blue poppy picture measures 68cm by 68cm and is priced at £100 from John Lewis.
Also eye-catching was this violet spellbound triptych, featuring one large print flanked by two smaller ones. The canvas was painted by Angie Thomas and, as the violet flowers are painted against a white background, this really makes them stand out.
Shades of violet, purple or cassis are another key interiors trend at the moment, so the painting would fit in wonderfully well with this colour scheme.
The centre of the floral canvas measures 70cm by 70cm, with the other two pieces measuring 70cm by 34cm. It’s available from John Lewis for £385.

 Bird Tree
Decorating children’s rooms is often a bit of a conundrum, as no sooner have you painted or wall papered their room with their favourite cartoon character or colour, then they change their mind and like something different. And as much as children may love to have pink or train-themed when they’re seven, it’s not so much fun when they’re 14.
If you’re faced with children’s bedroom decorating dilemmas, then these wall stickers could solve your problem. Ferm LIVING have produced some great sets of wall stickers that can be stuck on children’s bedroom walls, but easily removed when they’re bored with the design or simply fancy having them up elsewhere.
The stickers are easy to use and come complete with everything you need to successfully stick them in place. What’s more, they don’t cause damage to the surface they’re stuck on and can be used on walls, ceilings, windows or any other form of flat surface. Some even look good enough to be used in adult rooms too!
The Bird Tree Wall Stickers cost £65. Also available for children’s rooms are the Animal Tower wall stickers, which depicts a variety of animals all stacked up in a pile and doubles up as a height chart (£55) and the Butterflies, which are £31 for a set of 12. You can find them all - and more - online at Cloudberry Living.

I’m sure that most of us still have some old style audio cassette tapes that you can’t use anymore. Well, here’s a solution to recycle them in a stylish way.
An artist called iri5 created two portraits from cassette tapes. Jimi Hendrix and Bob Dylan look great on the wall, don’t you think?
If you don’t have a particular artist in mind, then just use a photo of any man or band you want to put on your wall, and start creating the wall art by drawing the design with a pencil. Then add your ripped up old audio cassette tape inners to create dimension and interest.
