We couldn’t resist featuring a few heart shaped ideas today, so here are some products that we think would make great treats for you and your home.
The mustard yellow safety pin heart print cushion is a big favourite. This contemporary heart print cushion features a hand drawn design of pins made to form hearts. It’s designed and made in England and part of the Graduate Collection, of work by new designers. It’s £40 from Graduate Collection.
Trivets are always useful to have in the kitchen and these come as a pair. With the set of two bamboo wood heart shaped trivets, one fits neatly inside the other, so you can use them as one or separately. They’re £18 from John Lewis.
The mini unscented ceramic heart tealight candles come nicely boxed as a set of four. They’re perfect as a treat for yourself or to give as a gift, and once the candles have burnt, you can use the ceramic hearts as little dishes. They’re £18 from The White Company.
For a bit of fun in the kitchen, why not try your hand at making heart shaped waffles? The Gourmet Gadgetry non-stick waffle maker allows you to make one large waffle or five small heart shaped waffles in minutes. It’s £26 from Selfridges.

Mug of love
It seems to be coming around quickly this year, but it’s not long until Valentine’s Day and already the shops are promoting love-related gifts like mad.
If you don’t want to go all out on hearts and flowers, then here’s a simple design that speaks volumes. What’s more, it’s perfect to treat yourself with or give as a gift at any time of the year, not just one day in February.
The ceramic A True Love Story Never Ends mug costs £14.95 from This Is Pretty.

Bespoke wall print
We can’t be sensible all the time, so here’s a wall print that celebrates a bit of naughtiness!
The bespoke print is just one of a brilliant collection by Open Box Design, an award-winning small design company.
We like the effect of the neutral words on a black background, but it’s also available in a choice of background colours, including green, blue, pink, aubergine, red and yellow.
You can simply buy the naughty print, or choose to have it framed. It costs from £20 from the Open Box Design store on Not On The High Street.

Mug with a cheery message
British designer, Rob Ryan, is well known for his intricate paper cuts and screen prints, like the limited edition laser cut we featured previously, but some of his designs have also been transformed into mugs.
This cheery, “Believe in People,” porcelain mug has been screen printed with one of Rob’s designs.
The wording, in bright orange hearts with intricate edges, could make it a suitable Valentine’s Day gift.
The Believe mug is £12 from Urban Outfitters.

Heart chopping board
The shops are full of Valentine’s Day gift ideas and, whilst some may be tacky, a lot of the home-related gift ideas are things that you can use time and time again (and are definitely worth buying as a treat for yourself!).
This heart shaped chopping board has a slight novelty factor, but as chopping boards go, it’s a useful size to have in your kitchen and could serve many a food preparation need.
The heart chopping board is made from rubberwood and costs £9.50 from M&S, who have a whole section of Valentine’s Day gift ideas for the home (some better than others).

These novel pillowcases feature a heart design, but with a slight twist.
Rather than getting a heart on each item, the Union pillowcases are cleverly designed to provide half a heart on each piece.
When the pillowcases are put into use on your bed, and the designs placed next to each other, they join together to form a heart – ahhhh.
Slightly cheesy, but a cute idea, a pair of hand printed Union Egyptian cotton pillowcases costs £25 from Twisted Twee.

Keep warm and snug!
This soft and fleecy woven blanket is adorned with a red and white heart design, in contemporary styling.
The large reversible blanket would be perfect for using on a bed, or simply curling up under on a chilly day.
Available from Slumberbugs, the hearts blanket is £30.
(We know it’s super early, but if anyone is thinking of Valentine’s Day gifts, then this blanket is appropriately themed!).
