Compact, convenient and well designed, this Irvin storage mirror combines the practicality of a mirror with some useful storage.
The Irvin mirror was designed by Conran as part of their range for Marks and Spencer. This piece of furniture is great, as it’s solid, sturdy and multi-functional. You get all the benefits of a full length mirror, but there also multiple shelves and a useful hook incorporated into the design too.
The slimline design makes it ideal for using in a narrow room where you have limited space for a bulky piece of furniture, or in a corner of a room.
We can see it working very well in a hallway (there’s a place to leave your keys, hang your coat and a mirror to use to brush your hair as you leave your house in a rush) or in a bedroom where you want to provide guests with a mirror and some shelves, but have limited space for anything bigger.
The contemporary storage mirror is made from oak veneer and, although it arrives flat packed, will be put together for you by the M&S delivery company.
Usually priced at £329, the Irvin storage mirror is currently reduced to £263.20 in the Home Event at M&S (runs until 25 Feb 2013). We think this looks like a great buy for a good looking, sturdy piece of furniture that should last well.

Mirror made from recycled tyres
It’s amazing what old tyres can be used to create!
This unusual mirror has been crafted from recycled tyres, with the tread pattern forming a decorative design around the frame. It looks really effective and very textual and each tread pattern is unique.
The tyre frame mirror is made by Tread (a company run by Karen Brierley and Anna Tutton), who specialise in producing a variety of home and garden accessories made from recycled tyres.
You can buy the mirror, and other products, from the Tread store on Not On The High Street.

Connect Four mirror
The name of this mirror instantly makes you realise what the design reminds you of – the Connect Four game!
The design of this contemporary style handmade mirror is really eye-catching. The five rows of small round mirrors make for interesting reflections and the surface of the mirror is smooth and almost looks like plastic (like a Connect Four game), but isn’t.
The Connect Four mirror is designed and made by Tony Watts, from SquarePear Furniture, and costs £180 from their store on Not On The High Street.

If you’re looking for a mirror with a difference, and aren’t afraid of using colour in your home (we heartily recommend it!), then this rather funky mirror from Ghost Furniture is definitely worth a look.
Rather than featuring one single piece of mirror, it’s made from a collection of mirrors that were found at the Bastille Antiques Fair in Paris, and have been pieced together on a black board to produce an interesting design. It’s reminiscent of a flower shape, with one rounded mirror piece in the centre and eight pieces surrounding it.
The frame was sourced at the same fair and has been brought to life with a coating of bright pink, adding a wonderful splash of colour and contrast to the piece.
The vintage restored mirror by Ghost Furniture costs £225.

Stunning mosaic mirror
Jazz It Up Interiors have a great range of funky mirrors available, including many made of colourful mosaic designs. One lovely example is this round Roulette mirror, which features stripes of multicoloured glass mosaic around the outside of it.
The art glass mirror is handmade on a dark solid wood frame and would act as a stunning focal point on a wall.
The mosaic mirror is available in a choice of three sizes, with an 80cm round mirror starting at £340.
As well as this design, we also really like the look of the contemporary Eclipse round mosaic mirror and the sculptural mosaic glass wall art, which is beautiful.
