Recycled coffee cup week planner board

Once upon a time, this was a coffee cup.....

It’s amazing what new homeware products can be produced from recycled waste. The humble throwaway coffee cup is being used in many great ways – we’ve previously featured a recycled sundial, but now there’s this fanastic weekly wall planner which is also made out of old coffee cups.

From a distance, this wall planner gives the impression that it’s made from a slate-like material. Although not slate, the recycled material is tough, heavy and solid and looks good, as well as being durable.

The planner is produced to mimic a chalkboard, with plenty of space available for you to plan your weekly meals, household chores or make notes of social engagements for the week. There’s also a useful clock at the top of the board, which operates when one AA battery is inserted in the back.

It’s a functional and useful item for the home and even better that it’s also made out of recycled materials. You can buy the recycled coffee cup week planner from Love Eco.

Felt flowers

To mark the start of Fairtrade Fortnight (22nd February 2010 – 7th March 2010), we’ve found the perfect, long-lasting flowers for your home.

The Fairtrade Fuzzy Fleurs are easy to look after, will add a splash of colour and never need watering.

Each flower is handmade from felt and measures 45cm – or the average length of a cut flower stem. They’re available in three colours – Parma Violet, Tempting Turquoise or Passionate Pink and can be bought individually or as a bouquet of three flowers.

The Fairtrade Fuzzy Fleurs are available from Love Eco, where they currently have an offer on for a bouquet of three flowers for the price of two.
