Here’s a novel way to light a room in your home – with a teapot or coffee pot!
This whimsical range of unusual lighting is inspired by 1930s tableware. Both the white teapot light and the white coffee pot light are made from fine bone china, finished off with a sturdy cotton braid, from which they are hung.
The teapot light is Art Deco in style, with a noticeably angular handle, whereas the coffee pot light has more of a timeless appeal.
If you fancy hanging these quirky lights in your home, then each one will set you back £95. They’re both available to purchase at Liberty.

 Impressive floor lamp
Wilkinson is a shop I never normally think to look in and it had passed me by that they even had an online store. But I was in search of some inexpensive plain green garden seat pads yesterday and came across their website (they have a great selection of seat pads for the super bargain price of £5.98 for two, if you’re interested).
I couldn’t resist a bit more a browse and came across this great looking Gracie floor lamp. The rattan effect lamp measures 122cm in height and would happily fill an empty corner of a room and provide a good source of light. It’s only £22 at Wilkinson Plus.
They’ve got lots of other homeware and garden items in stock, so I’ve bookmarked the URL and will hopefully remember to look there again.

Habitat currently have quite a few home accessories and furniture reduced in price, including these two Wilson lamps.
They’re made from matt glazed ceramic and available in a choice of white or black. We rather like the fact that they’re a bit of an unusual shape, which gives them a modern edge.
The Wilson table lamp base (it comes as a base only, so you can supply your own choice of lampshade) was priced at £35, but each is now down to £28.

 Attractive butterfly shade
Hot on the heels of the 3D Provence floral table lamp comes this great lighting discovery.
Made by Mixko, a Japanese and British designer duo, this unusual buttefly light is made from thick white felt. The lamp shade is available in a choice of drum or drape styles and each has a series of butterflies cut out of the material and adorning the light in various places. The butterflies vary in shape and size and look like they’ve been attracted to the sight of the light and are perched on the shade to be near it.
This unusual piece is available to purchase from The French Bedroom Company.

Why have one light, when you could have seven?
This retro-style pendant light from Heal’s features a bundle of seven chrome, mirrored glass balls. Each ball holds a bulb and, when turned on, creates a stunning light centrepiece.

 Glass table lamp
We love this elegant ombre table lamp, from Next.
The glass base is the eye-catching part of this lamp – it’s nicely shaped, but goes from a deep teal colour to a light blue. It’s accompanied by a faux silk teal shade, although you could replace this for a lighter colour if you wish.
The lagoon ombre table lamp is available from Next, where it’s priced at £35.

 Delicate leaf light
What better way to bring elements of nature into your home, than through this leafy pendant lampshade.
The contemporary delicate white pendant is adorned with a cascade of leaves that will hang down from your ceiling and create an eye-catching display. It looks lovely when the light is off, but glows beautifully when it’s turned on.
The white leafy pendant lampshade is reasonably priced, at £23.99, and it’s available from The Contemporary Home.

 Stylish monotone lamp
It’s amazing how the base of a lamp can totally change its look. If this one was just a plain colour, it would probably be very easily missable, but the striking cream and black design draws the eye in immediately.
The cream base is made of ceramic and is decorated with a lovely black design, and it’s accompanied by a plain black faux linen drum-style lamp shade.
For a stylish lamp that will turn heads - for all the right reasons – and provide some essential light in a dark corner, then this Felicity table lamp is £65 from Very.

These gorgeous Cindy design lamps by Kartell are simply designed, but really stunning.
Featuring a small, squat base and a tall shade, each of the lamps has a gorgeously shiny, gleaming metallic finish.
The Cindy lamp is available in a choice of stylish platinum, modern purple or classic bronze, from John Lewis.
Choose one colour lamp and use it to accessorize and brighten up one particular room, or choose a variety of colours to use throughout your home.
