 Simple, yet stylish lamp
It’s a bit unusual to find a lamp called ‘Just Married’, but this one gets its name for a very good reason!
This funky contemporary light basis its ironic design on the tin cans that are so often attached onto the back of a newly wed couple’s car, dangling and banging as they drive away.
Thankfully the light does look far more tasteful than an old tin can though, and is made up of seven white aluminium ‘tin cans’ suspended by red flex. The flex can be shortened to your required length.
The Just Married bundle lamp is available to purchase from Dutch by Design.

 Stacked base style lamp
The stacked base style of lamps continues to be popular, but if you don’t have a huge budget available, you can still get the look without breaking the bank.
This small Beatrice lamp would be suitable for use on a table in the lounge or a bedside table.
It’s available in clear (neutral), which is perfect for going in any room, or a deep teal blue shade for a touch of dramatic colour.
The mini lamp is affordably priced at only £28 from Next.

 Striking lampshade
Emma Armstrong, who runs Stem, specialises in making lampshades and produces some striking pieces.
This turqouise lampshade is a gorgeous colour and would look great used to add a touch of colour to a neutral or white room, or teamed with other turqouise pieces.
The outside of the lampshade is covered in a silvery fabric, with a large turquoise floral design, but what makes the lamp shade a bit more unusual is the addition of stripes of colour on the inside.
The turquoise flower and stripe lampshade is available in a variety of sizes and can be made to order. Prices start from £69 and the shade is available to purchase from Stem.

 Icarus lamp shade
Designer, Tord Boontje, is known for his unusual creations (like the decorative steel ivy panel we featured before) and this feathery lamp shade is no exception.
The creative Icarus lamp shade design features a tumbling swathe of overlapping feathers, that looks like the white wing of a swan. The shade measures 78cm in length and can accommodate light bulbs of up to 60 watts.
Not surprisingly, and as the name suggests, the inspiration behind the light comes from the tale of Icarus, who flew too close to the sun and lost his wings. Although the idea of having a feather-like lamp shade may not appeal to everyone, it’s an effective design.
The Icarus lamp shade by Tord Boontje is sold by Dutch by Design and costs £75.

 Distinctive design lamp
We love the design of this modern ribbon inspired metal table lamp – it’s bursting with fluid lines, interesting angles and a surface that reflects light wonderfully via its polished surfaces.
The lamp is made from coloured powder coated metal and the fluid, continuous design was developed using a single, continuous strip of paper as inspiration. The end result is highly effective and a great piece to add to any modern or contemporary room.
The white ribbon table lamp was £100, but is now reduced to £80 in the Habitat sale.

There are a lot of lovely wallpaper designs available, but one of the patterns that continues to be popular is the Dandelion Clocks design by Sanderson.
Based on a classic 1950s retro design, the fun and funky wallpaper is available in a choice of colourways and works very effectively in many rooms of the home.

The Chaffinch blue – a light, teal blue, grey and green colourway – is perhaps one of the best known choices for this wallpaper, but the blackcurrant pink and natural shades, or the striking red and brown, look just as good.
The Dandelion Clocks wallpaper is available from a variety of retailers, including John Lewis, where the made to order wallpaper costs £33.
To complete the look, various matching dandelion clock print homewares are available too. Whilst I’m not keen on the idea of plastering an entire house in the Dandelion Clock print, there are plenty of items available to allow you to mix and match, using as much or as little as the print as you wish, in conjunction with coordinating paint colours, fabrics or furniture.
 Blackcurrant and natural lampshade
If you love the cheery blackcurrant and natural colourway, then Heal’s have an exclusive dandelion clock lampshade in stock.
The drum style lampshade is best suited for use with a lampbase – if you use it as a pendant style shade, then the design will be upside down!
Wallpaper Direct have all the colourways available in a Dandelion Clock print bath towel (£24) and the blue print in a Dandelion Clocks king size duvet (£85).

John Leiws have matching Dandelion Clock cushions available in the blackcurrant and blue colours, for £30 each.

 Make an offer for charity
In the first of a series of ‘Make Us an Offer For Charity Days’, Charlie and Caroline, who own and run Pedlars, are offering up this fab red and white armlite floor lamp. If you fancy becoming the proud owner of it – this particular lamp usually retails at £325 – all you have to do is place your bid (£50 or above) in the comments section of their blog.
You pick the charity that you’d like the money to go to, and they’ll pay the postage to send it to you in the UK. A few bids are in already and, if enough people are interested, there’s the chance that two lamps may be available. So go and make a bid, it’s for a good cause and you could end up with a stylish lamp!

 Glass table lamp
We love this elegant ombre table lamp, from Next.
The glass base is the eye-catching part of this lamp – it’s nicely shaped, but goes from a deep teal colour to a light blue. It’s accompanied by a faux silk teal shade, although you could replace this for a lighter colour if you wish.
The lagoon ombre table lamp is available from Next, where it’s priced at £35.
