 Square dinner set
Square dinner plates are a pleasant change from the traditional round design of many tableware sets and help produce a more contemporary look.
This porcelain dinner set comes with 16 pieces - four dinner plates, four side plates, four bowls and four mugs - and is decorated in a striking black and white oriental flower design. The edges of the square plates are slightly rounded, producing a soft look.
Everything is dishwasher and microwave safe and the 16 piece oriental flower dinner set is only £29.89 from Argos.

 Glass flower dish
This beautiful glass dish is handmade in a lovely magnolia flower shape. Measuring 18cm in diameter, you can clearly see the petals of the flowerhead and the centre of the bloom and it’s been nicely finished off with a subtle gold shade.
It would look lovely on a shelf, windowsill or table, left empty or filled with sweets or nibbles.
You can buy the magnolia dish from ZiggiZiggi, for £13.50.

These dandelion design table mats are just three of a set of six, by designer Ella Doran.
The table mat images are all of dandelion flowers, but each mat features a different stage of the dandelion’s life. From a full grown, bright yellow flower, to a transformation into a seedhead, to the moments when the seeds gradually get blown away - all of the images have been superbly captured.
I really like the non-uniform idea of these mats, that they complement each other perfectly well, but that each is a little different.
The mats measure 24cm by 19cm and the surface can easily be wiped down to clean.
The set of six mats is available to buy from Ella Doran’s online store.

 Elegant hyacinth vases
Many people grow hyacinth bulbs indoors at this time of year and, if you want to try the traditional method, then you’ll need glass vases to grow them in.
This set of three glass vases, available exclusively from Cox and Cox, are exactly the right size and shape for hyacinth bulbs. The bulb sits in the rounded part at the top and the roots grow down below it.
The three glass vases are in the fresh jewel-like colours of purple, green and clear and they’re all hand engraved. They’d look lovely on a windowsill, planted up with hyacinth bulbs, or simply used for decorative purposes.
The set of three vases is £16 from Cox and Cox.

Flower images are often found in a whole range of designs, but now Japanese designer, Shige Hasegawa, has created a rather funky flower inspired table.
The Hana Table is being exhibited during the 2009 Milan Furniture Fair. The flower design is based on traditional origami techniques (which usually involves folding paper, but in this instance it’s wood). Rather than having lots of screws and nails, the glass top is fixed to the base via the five plywood legs. This makes the table easy to assemble and perfect for flat-packing.
Wouldn’t it look great in your living room?
