Cheeky retro wallpaper by Dupenny

housewives-wallpaper-2                             timefortea-full

These two rather cheeky retro wallpapers are designed by Dupenny and handprinted in the UK.

Inspired by the 50s, and printed in black and white, the designs are guaranteed to be a talking point and add fun and frivolity to your walls!

Choose from Housewife, which depicts women in provactive poses cooking, hanging out washing and doing the ironing, or Time for Tea, where tempting cakes are being served and tea poured by scantily clad women.

Both wallpapers can be purchased as panels - with each design, there are two panel choices, so you can pick the designs you like and mix and match accordingly. If you only have a small space, then a single panel is perfect. Buy the Housewife and Time for Tea wallpaper panels from EcoCentric.

Wilson ceramic lamp bases from Habitat

wilson-white-lampwilson-black-lamp

Habitat currently have quite a few home accessories and furniture reduced in price, including these two Wilson lamps.

They’re made from matt glazed ceramic and available in a choice of white or black.  We rather like the fact that they’re a bit of an unusual shape, which gives them a modern edge.

The Wilson table lamp base (it comes as a base only, so you can supply your own choice of lampshade) was priced at £35, but each is now down to £28.

Recycled Scrabble felt cushions from Ecocentric

Recyled cushions

Share a message

These fun felt cushions will appeal to many a Scrabble fan.

They’re not only rather quirky, but they’re also made from 100% recycled plastic bottles that have been formed into a wonderfully soft felt. The inner cushion is also made out of a 100% recycled fibre filling (95% made from more of those plastic bottles) and an organic cotton outer.

The U & ME cushions would be very apt for Valentine’s Day, but if there are other letters that would have more meaning for you, then they can be ordered in your own choice of lettering or colour.

If you’re keen on the idea of saving plastic bottles from going to landfill, then buying just one of these cushions will save 10 bottles!

The cushions are available to purchase individually, or in sets, and you can find them for sale at EcoCentric.

Recycled chopping board

Recycled cardboad chopping board

Recycled cardboad chopping board

This black chopping board looks stylish and looks like it could be slate, but amazingly it’s made from 100% recycled cardboard.

Yes, cardboard – we couldn’t believe it either. We first spotted it featured on Nest Goodies and were so intrigued that we had to check it out for ourselves.

The recycled cardboard has been compressed to make the chopping board and the end result is heat resistant, stain resistant and colour resistant. The non-porous material won’t mean that bacteria can be harboured in the board (one of the issues that often concerns me about some chopping boards) and they say it won’t blunt your knife either.

As far as recycling goes, this is a great use for old cardboard and a very practical eco product to own. Once you’ve finished with it, it can be recycled again.

The chopping board is available in three sizes, with prices starting at £9.95, and you can buy it from EcoCentric.
