Sparkling glass door knobs

Forget plain and boring standard door knobs - if you’d like something a little bit different, there are plenty of options available.

Pumpkin glass door knobs

We love these Pumpkin glass door knobs from Graham and Green. The sweet little flower shaped door knobs are available in a lovely sapphire blue, jade green and clear crystal glass.

Just one or two of these handles added to a piece of furniture could change the look completely. And, at only £4.50 each, they offer a cheap way of livening things up.

To make a statement on a door, then these larger cut glass door knobs are also rather nice.

They’re available in blue, green, pink, smoke and crystal and would provide the perfect accent for an otherwise boring door. These are £18.95 each, also from Graham and Green, and won’t break the bank either.

For a classic monotone look, then this round bohemian glass handle door knob would do the trick.

It’s smooth and polished, set on nickel and is sold in pairs, so you can get a matching effect on both sides of the door.

This handle costs £75 from Willow and Stone.

Knock your song with the melody door

Sunday, April 5th, 2009

door

If you’re keen to recognise the person at your door from their knock, then this nifty design idea could be just the job. Although it’s still only in the concept stage, the idea is that your friends could knock a certain melody on your door, so you recognise it and know who’s outside. It’s a fun and clever idea and could go into production - let’s hope so!

Modern two-way rotating door

Wednesday, March 25th, 2009

ergonCreating the perfect indoor environment is really hard, especially when you’re dealing with awkward spaces. If you’re struggling with a small space where there’s not enough room for a standard type of door, then how about trying this?

Look at the picture - the door slowly rotates in, so the required space is half that of a normal door. It’s an Ergon rototranslating door and it makes a huge difference in rooms where you’ve got limited space.
