 Learn about meat cuts
My knowledge of meat cuts is pretty rubbish, but with this educational tea towel, they should improve.
Covering lamb, pork and beef, the illustrations on the tea towel provide informative diagrams of which meat cuts come from where.
Designed by a British designer and made from natural, unbleached cotton, the meat cuts tea towel costs £8.50 and can be purchased from Lily and Lime.

Designer Rob Ryan has collaborated with Mini Moderns to produce his first wallpaper range.
The wallpaper is based on designs from the end papers of Rob’s latest book, “A Sky Full of Kindness,” and features birdcages (which were originally cut from paper, in Ryan’s typical style) and tiny escapee birds. It’s hard to see in the images, but the birds are holding tiny messages in their beaks, spelling out the sentence, “Our adventure is about to begin.”
The wallpaper is available to purchase in three funky colourways – sky blue, chalky violet and afternoon green – and costs £50 per 10m roll from Mini Moderns.

These cups come as a pair, with saucers. One features the Fluff City design and the other the views of the Fuff Estuary. Both are striking in their design, with the predominant colours of blue, green, white and grey shining through.

 Bargain bird cushion
Yes, it’s birds again….but we love the look of this contemporary bird cushion.
Based on folk designs, but with a modern twist, the cushion features an array of colourful birds in red, orange, blue, grey and green. The 45cm square cover is made from a cotton and linen mix and it has a feather pad inside.
Originally priced at £25, the bird cushion is now a bit of a bargain at only £15 from Primrose and Plum.
You’ll need to hurry though, as there’s only one left….
More sale bargains can be found in their Summer Offers section.

Everywhere we go, we keep coming across this Anorak blue and white seagull print on various items. So we’re taking it as a sign that we should feature some of the homeware products with the print on!
It’s a very summery and fresh print and quite a contemporary design – what do you think of it?
 Seagull cushion
The seagull print cotton cushion is from Graham and Green, and they’ve currently got it reduced in their sale. It was £37, but is now down to £25.90.
 Picnic rug
The matching Anorak seagulls picnic rug, which is made from cotton and has a waterproof back, is available from John Lewis for £36.
 Seagull table mats
There are tablemats available in the seagulls design too. This set of four table mats costs £27.50 from Starfish Bay.

 Bath cityscape tea towel
A lot of the designers featuring cities and architectural landscapes in their work tend to focus on London, so it’s great to come across some city-inspired work that focuses on somewhere else – in this case, Bath.
Bristol-based Emmeline Simpson produces a range of products featuring designs inspired by cityscapes. This tea towel, for example, features a line drawing of the iconic view of the Royal Crescent in Bath – and having been there recently, it does so extremely well (although you probably wouldn’t see six hot air balloons passing by every day).
Made from 100% cotton and screen printed, the tea towel costs £8.95 from Emmeline’s shop on Not On The High Street.
As well as Bath cityscapes, you’ll also find homeware items in her store, such as mugs, coasters and prints, with images of Bristol and Oxford.

 Octopus cushion
Of all the things you could have on a cushion, who knew an octopus could be so appealing?
The octopus cushion is part of Thomas Paul’s Sea Life collection of designs and is made from 100% linen. The image has been hand screened onto the cushion and features a rich cocoa and neutral beige shade, which could coordinate well with many an interior colour scheme.
The Thomas Paul octopus cushion comes with a feather insert included and can be purchased from Supernice.

Imagine a chair that comes in the form of a flatpack envelope, that can be sent easily be post, and opens up to provide a sturdy, portable piece of furniture.
Creating practical, foldable, usable furniture was the aim of industrial designers, Douwe Jacobs and Tom Schouten, who set up Flux in 2009. The first result of their inspiration and design ideas is the Flux Chair – a fully flexible folding chair that saves on floor space when it’s not in use and is a breeze to move.
The clever design means that it only takes two simple folds to transform a flat envelope with a handle into a designer chair. The Flux chair is waterproof, so it can be used outdoors in your garden, on a beach or in a park, as well as in any room of your home.
The chair itself weighs 4.5kg and it can support weights of up to 160kg.
The Flux chair is available in a selection of colours, including red, white, blue, grey, yellow and dark grey. Various retailers have the Flux chair in stock, in different colours – Oliver Bonas (6 colours currently available, priced at £109), Made in Design (£113, plus they sell Flux cushions too) and Amazon (lots of colours, £109).

 Quirky doorstop

It’s shaped like an apple, with a stalk and decorative green leaf, and is made from red apple design print fabric. It will serve a practical purpose in your home, but also look good whilst doing so.
The apple doorstop is priced at £19.99 and can be purchased from Strawberry Fool.

 Serve tapas in style
What would you expect to pay for a set of four small serving plates?
We think this set of white china rectangular plates, which are the perfect size for serving tapas or canapes, are a bit of a bargain, as they cost only £12.90.
The plates are elegant in design and the white colour will mix and match easily with other tableware and crockery.
The four piece tapas serving set can be purchased from Bon Prix.
