 Applique cushion This striking cushion is handmade in France and available exclusively at Florestine.
The white cotton cushion is brought to life by the addition of bold and bright circles and splashes of colour - aquamarine, deep marine blue and Greek blue - which are appliqued onto the cushion.
The design is inspried by the Mediterranean blue sea around the Italian island of Ischia, from which the cushion gets its name.
The Ischia cushion cover is £17 and you can also buy a cushion pad separately, from Florestine.

 Funky barcode cushion This fab barcode cushion is by Ferm Living and is great if you want something a bit different on your sofa.

 Statement cushion Osborne & Little are well known for their wallpaper and fabric design and have created this Prima Donna cushion for part of Heal’s ReDiscovers range.
Using traditional floral designs, the cushion is given a modern feel with its black and fluorescent pink roses and silver background. If you like the design and fancy more than just the cushion, there are a whole load of other matching items available, including a lampshade, rug, armchair and drum pouffe.
Personally, we feel that one or two pieces is enough to make a statement, as too much can be a bit overpowering, but each to their own.
The cushion is available from Heal’s, who are celebrating their 200th year anniversary in 2010, so look out for special offers in store and online throughout the year.

 Gorgeous sari cushions We’ve all for mixing design ideas and themes, and antique and vintage pieces can successfully work alongside modern and contemporary. Take these antique sari seat pads from Myakka, for example.
We’ve fallen in love with the fabric and colours - wonderful embroidery, rich colours, unusual designs, gold detailing and a rainbow of colours - and love the fact that each cushion is finished off with beaded tassels in the corners.
They’re designed to be seat pads - used for sitting on - but if you think they’re a bit too nice to be squashed, you could easily use them as cushions for decorative purposes. A pale or neutral coloured sofa would look great with a few of these dotted around on it.
Each seat pad is unique, with no two being exactly the same, so you can’t guarantee exactly what colour or design you’ll get. As far as we’re concerned, that just adds to the uniqueness.

We’ve featured the fabulous Dandelion Clocks wallpaper by Sanderson previously on the blog, in the blue, green and grey colour scheme.
If you’re a fan of the 50s retro design, then you may want to head over to John Lewis, as a whole new range of gorgeous matching homeware products are now available in the same Dandelion Clocks design.
They’ve got a choice of two colourways - the blue, green and grey, which they’ll calling Chaffinch, and a purpley-pink, green and grey, which they call Blackcurrant.

Cushions are a wonderful home accessory to have and add interest and colour to chairs, sofas and beds. But for that extra special touch, why not opt for a 3D cushion?
There are some wonderful contemporary 3D cushions available at the moment, suitable for a wide variety of budgets, and they add extra dimension to the standard cushion. Plus, many are soft, cuddly and very touchable.
We’ve rounded up 10 of our current favourite 3D cushions.
1. Zinnia Blossoms Claret 3D Cushion
This striking claret red cushion is decorated with 3D zinnia blossom flowers made from felt.
The cushion is filled with feathers and measures 45cm by 45cm. It’s available from John Lewis for £30.
2. Black 3D Flower Cushion from M&S
This wool blend, felted fabric square cushion has a stunning 3D floral design on the front.
The black one is gorgeous, but it’s also available in red or green. You’ll find it for sale for £35 at M&S.
3. John Rocha 3D Felt Ripple Cushion
This lovely cushion by John Rocha features a 3D ripple effect.
It’s made from felt, in a striking green colour, and costs £32 from Debenhams.
4. Blue Folk Rosette Cushion from M&S
This blue folk style 3D appliqued rosette cushion is rectangular in shape and the floral rosettes are finished off with multi-faceted beads.
It’s £19.50 from M&S.
5. Scrap Pack 3D Cushion from Cushlab on Bouf
Children old and young will love this fun 3D cushion. It’s made from the off-cuts leftover from the rest of the Cushlab cushions and features a selection of quirky characters.
It’s full of dimension and interest, measures 40cm by 40cm and each one is unique. Find it for sale from Cushlab on Bouf, for £120.
6. 3D Rosebud Cream Cushion
This delicate cream cushion is adorned with a multitude of small 3D appliqued rosebuds.
The square cushion measures 43cm by 43cm and is available from M&S for £29.50.
7. John Rocha Yellow Pocket Cushion
In a cheery yellow shade, this designer 3D pocket cushion by John Rocha would add a splash of colour to your sofa.
The cushion measures 48cm by 48cm and costs £30 from Debenhams.
8.Pink Round 3D Flower Cushion
This circular felt cushion has lots of 3D flower petals on the front. Although it’s classed as pink, it’s more of a deep pink or red shade in colour.
The round flower 3D cushion is available from John Lewis, for £30.
9. Grey Organdy Rose Head Cushion from B&Q
This grey mix organdy rose head cushion is made from polyester and is, surprisingly, available from B&Q.
If you love the 3D effect of cushions, but only have a limited budget, it’s ideal as it only costs £10.98 from B&Q.
10. Cream Felt 3D Cushion from Asda
This cream felt 3D cushion looks like a designer piece, but is actually sold by Asda.
To get this cushion on your sofa woud cost the bargain price of £9 from Asda.

 3D flower cushion We’ve gone a bit mad on cushions recently, but there are some gorgeous ones in the shops at the moment, like this one from M&S, which we couldn’t resist.
The 3D flower cushion is stunning and is made from a wool mix felted fabric. It measures 43cm by 43cm and is available in black, red and a pale green shade.
You’ll find the cushion available to buy online from M&S for £35.

 Share a message These fun felt cushions will appeal to many a Scrabble fan.
They’re not only rather quirky, but they’re also made from 100% recycled plastic bottles that have been formed into a wonderfully soft felt. The inner cushion is also made out of a 100% recycled fibre filling (95% made from more of those plastic bottles) and an organic cotton outer.
The U & ME cushions would be very apt for Valentine’s Day, but if there are other letters that would have more meaning for you, then they can be ordered in your own choice of lettering or colour.
If you’re keen on the idea of saving plastic bottles from going to landfill, then buying just one of these cushions will save 10 bottles!

 Lovely teal cushion There are some gorgeous cushions in the shops at the moment, including this lovely Cameia teal cushion from John Lewis.
It’s the texture of the cushion that caught our eye - it’s made up of lots of little interlocking fabric circles - which makes it a cushion you really want to touch.

 Plum braid cushion We’re rather taken by this oppulent looking plum braid cushion from the Monsoon Home interiors range.
The striking cushion is made up of panels of velvet and jacquard fabrics, coupled with ornate woven gold braids, which produces a luxurious end product.
Although described as plum, there are shades of red in this cushion too, so it would tone with both red and plum interiors.
If the plum version isn’t to your taste, then there’s a teal blue option available too (although it’s a bit too icy looking for our current state of mind!).
