 Colourful doormat
It’s not the most sexy item to buy for your home, but unless you want muddy or wet feet trailing through your home, you need to have a doormat.
A lot of doormats are boring and unappealing, but thankfully this is one doormat that we think you might like. The eyecatching design has three large floral blooms on it, in shades of pink, red and purple. In fact, it looks a bit too nice for muddy feet to stand on.
To get this doormat in front of your door, head on over to Graham and Green, where it’s priced at £22.50.

 Contemporary coat stand
In the past, coat stands have been great big bulky things that have taken up far too much room in your hall, even without a pile of coats hanging on them.
But not any more.
This black sticks contemporary piece proves that coat stands really can be minimal. Although it looks ineffectual, as it’s made up of only three ’sticks’, the coat stand is suitably sturdy enough to accommodate numerous coats and jackets.
The black sticks coat stand is available from Heal’s.

At this time of year, there are a multitude of calendars to choose from, but so many are dreadfully twee and uninspiring.
If you’ve not yet found your perfect calendar and are looking for something a bit different, then we’d recommend having a look at what’s on offer at Zazzle.
They specialise in one-of-a-kind, print-on-demand products, and they’ve got a great range of calendars, created by some of the world’s best artists and up-and-coming individuals.
Here are three of our favourites.

This funky calendar from internationally acclaimed Thaneeya McArdle features images from her original drawings and paintings. This a calendar full of colour and the images are drawn from influences such as abstract, whimsical, photorealism and psychedelic.
The cover shot, shown above, is a riot of colour, but it’s worth going to look more closely at the images for the months of the year, as you get to see a really good mix of Thaneeya’s artwork.

Despite being descriped as autumn, the images on this colourful calendar are not autumny all the way through!
The calendar was created by Glemelin and portrays images of digital art.

Carnival in Venice is by Bulgan_Lumini and features a collection of watercolour and mixed media paintings, all inspired by Carnival in Venice.
The artist suggests that, at the end of 2010, you can take the calendar apart and frame the images as artwork to keep in your home.

 Buenavista red side table
Side tables are jolly handy to have for those occasions when you need a bit of extra table space, for example to serve drinks on or to have a place to pop your favourite decorative home accessories.
If you’re looking for a contemporary side table, then Amode have a great selection on offer.
We particularly like the Buenavista glass side table, which features a glossy glass top perched on a polished chrome frame.
The side table is available in red, black or white, but we’re particularly fond of the red version, as it makes quite a statement.
The Buenavista contemporary side table costs £200 at Amode.

We’re always on the look out for new, innovative and unusual products - and that includes vases. Here are five of the best modern and stylish vases we’ve found recently.
 Napali porcelain vase
1. This striking Napali porcelain vase would look equally good on its own, used as an accessory, as it would with a simple arrangement of flowers in.
It measures 10″ high and has a delicate pattern of swirls swishing around the outside (it’s the kind of design that would look great as a lamp or lampshade too). It’s $120 from Clio Home.
 Normann Swing unique vase
2. For a vase that will create a wow factor, then you can’t go too far wrong with this Normann Swing vase.
A truly unique piece, each glass vase is blown by mouth, so no two are completely identical. The swing vase is available in three sizes, with prices rangings from £22 to £33, but there’s a special offer on at the moment for all three for £75.
As well as purple, the vase is available in black, white, red or green. Buy it from Plain Gorgeous.
 Grass vase
3. If you’re after a natural look, then how about this cleverly designed vase? It’s wonderfully eyecatching and is officially described as a Grass Vase (although we think it resembles asparagus stems much more than grass).
It’s actually cleverly crafted out of ceramic and is made in Denmark.
The grass vase is available in three sizes, priced from $51 to $66, and can be purchased from Clio Home.
 Gocce Murano glass drop vase
4. Murano glass is one of the most popular forms of glass in Italy and is used in a wide range of products, from home accessories to jewellery.
Here it’s used to great effect in the form of an elegant glass drop vase.
Designed by Formia Glass, and part of the Gocce collection, the Murano vase features an opaque jet black core that’s surrounded by crystal clear glass. The contemporary style vase is 30cm tall.
Buy it online from Murano Glass for £110.
 Salzburg glass vase
5. Clear glass vases serve a multitude of purposes and are one of the handiest types of vase to own.
This Salzburg glass vase measures 45cm by 21cm and looks great filled withn contemporary twigs - the sparklier, the better - or a large bunch of flowers.
The Salzburg vase costs £44.04 from Graham and Green.
