Fresh design lighting: Jeeves wall light and table lamp

Fresh design contemporary wall light

A while back we featured the somewhat quirky and unusual Jeeves and Wooster pendant lights – aka hats in the guise of lights. Now the black hat designs are back in force, this time used as a wall light and table lamp.

The Jeeves wall light and Jeeves table lamp are both designed by British designer, Jake Phipps.

We rather like the wall light, as it creates the impression of the hat effortlessly floating on the wall. The  table lamp is fun too, especially as it looks like the hat just happens to be balanced there, and the anodised gold lining shows up well in this design.

What do you think? Would you use the Jeeves hat lights in your home?

Both the Jeeves wall light and table lamp are available to buy individually from Graham and Green.

Contemporary fresh design pendant light

Wooden pendant light

Bhs always surprise us with their lighting ranges and can generally be found to have some real gems on offer, often at a fraction of the price that similar design lights would be.

This season we really like the look of the Erika pendant light. The large light is made from wooden bamboo veneer and is a great piece of contemporary lighting.

The wood Erika pendant is in stock now at Bhs, for £130.

Contemporary scrap lights for modern homes

Moon Scrap Lights

We featured some of Graypants Scrap Lights a few years ago, so it’s about time we show you some more.

These gorgeous lighting creations are based on the planets, particularly moons.

The largest of the lights represents jupiter, with the other sizes based on four of moons discovered by Galileo – ganymede, callisto, io and europa.

The lights are really effective and look stunning used on their own or hung in multiples to create a lighting spectacle on your ceiling.

You can find a selection of the Scrap Lights available in the UK from Panik Design.

Equine horse lighting home accessories trend

Giant horse floor lamp

Equine fans….fancy a horse in your living room?

There have been lots of animal lamps around in the last few years, but whereas most are table lamp sized, this one is life size!

The horse lamp was created by Swedish designers Front for Moooi and is made from black polyester. There’s a lot of detail on the horse, making it quite realistic – well, bar the fact that it has a lamp on its head.

You’ll definitely need a roomy house to accommodate this Black Beauty and we reckon it’s bound to become a talking point.

The Moooi horse floor lamp is available to buy from Made in Design.

Modern interior design lighting ideas

Transparent table lamp

If you’re after modern and contemporary lighting for your home, then a trip to the Mac and Mac Interiors showroom, or a browse of their website, is always useful, as they seem to have the market for modern lighting options well covered.

As far as table lamps go, one of the pieces that caught our eye is this Artemide Dalu table lamp by Vico Magistretti. It’s a re-edition of an original 1960s design and is available in a vhoice of four colours – transparent red, transparent orange, polished white or polished black.

The transparent colours are rather fun, as you get to glimpse inside the design and the lightbulb, in particular, shows through really well, giving it an extra funky look.

The table lamp costs £59 from Mac & Mac Interiors, but there’s an extra 10% discount available at the moment on this collection (use the voucher code ART10 at the online checkout).
