Karlsson Flower Field glass clock

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

karlsson-flower-field-black-clock    karlsson-flower-field-colour-clock

Modern clocks have become so much more than simply timepieces, as these two glass clocks from Karlsson demonstrate.

The flower field glass clocks are decorated with an array of contemporary floral designs, making them an eye-catching piece of art.

It’s amazing how different the design becomes by adding colour, but we think we do ultimately prefer the monotone black and white version.

You can find the Karlsson black flower field clock and the multicoloured flower field clock for sale at Dot Maison.

Designer bouquet clock from Hunkydory Home

Wednesday, January 13th, 2010

bouquet-clock-black    bouquet-clock-pink

Tell the time in style, with the help of these stunning designer bouquet clocks.

Designed by Nadia Sheltawy, the clocks are cleverly laser cut from acrylic perspex and have the shape of leaves, flowers and buds around the outside of the clock (all the things you’d find in a bouquet of flowers).

We love the black clock, which would look great hung on a neutral wall, but for a splash of colour, it’s also available in hot pink.

Both clocks are sold by Hunkydory Home for £44.99 each.

Big Ben clock wall sticker

Friday, November 27th, 2009
Fancy Big Ben on your wall?

Let Big Ben strike on your wall

We’ve featured lots of wall stickers before, but this one goes one step further.

Designed in the famous shape of Big Ben, this giant wall sticker provides more than just a decorative form of wall art - it’s a working clock, too.

The elaborate sticker comes with a working clock face with quartz movement, with black metal hands, and operates on one AA battery.

If you’ve not got room for a full-size grandfather clock, but have got a suitable area of wall free (you’ll need 295mm x 2000mm), then this could be the perfect solution.

You can buy your very own Big Ben at Funky Little Darlings, for £120.

Available in a choice of classic black and white (which we’re rather partial too) or colourful primary colours, the clocks would be ideal for perching on a shelf, table or even on a bookcase.

Both of these clocks are available from Harley’s Interiors for £19.99 each.

Volkswagen hubcap clock

Volkswagen hubcap clock

Volkswagen hubcap clock

At Fresh Design Blog, we love nifty new design ideas, especially when created from recycled materials, so we were pleased to discover this clever clock idea from GreenWisdom.

Made from a recycled 19s0s 8″ Volkswagen hubcab,  which has been polished, waxed and detailed, this clock gives new life to an old car part. Good quality Takane clock movements have been fixed onto the hubcap to it turn into a fully functioning timepiece.

Each hubcap is unique, as there often subtle differences in the hubcap designs from year to year, so no two clocks are exactly the same.

This is a really fun use of a hubcap, would be a great gift for the man in your life and is a definite must-have for car lovers! The hubcap clock can be purchased from the GreenWisdom store on Etsy for $58.99.

More than just a clock

Monday, June 8th, 2009
Black lotus clock

Black lotus clock

It’s great when you find a piece for your home that serves both a practical purpose, but also looks wonderfully stylish too. That’s certainly the case with this very funky clock - which looks so much more than just a clock.

Its appearance makes it look like it’s made of metal, but it’s actually a form of flexible plastic, that’s been crimped and riveted to form a lovely starbust effect. Even if it didn’t have the timepiece in the middle, we’d still put it on our wall.

The Karlsson Black Lotus Clock is available from Contemporary Heaven for £49.

Ora ilLegale clock blast your time

Sunday, April 19th, 2009

clockDenis Guidone designed a clock that may help you save some time, but the truth is that this clock literally stole time from you. There are no numbers on the object and, when the time reaches a certain point, it changes sides. The Ora ilLegale clock is a good looking gadget, but don’t bet on it that it will always help you save time.
