This is not your average wallpaper, but if you love black-on-black wallpaper and fancy something dark and mysterious, then this new collection by designer, Barbara Hulanicki, may appeal.
The Disney Villians wallpaper collection features one of Disney’s most wicked villians – Maleficent, the Mistress of All Evil from Sleeping Beauty, and her pet raven, Diablo.
The wallpaper designs feature black backgrounds with a luxury black flock design on it – the first with a damask style illustration of Maleficient and the second a contemporary take on her raven, Diablo.
Both the Maleficent and Diablo wallpaper are available from Wallpaper Direct and cost £65 each.
What do you think? Would you put these designs on your wall?

 Marble candle holder
Every home needs at least one tealight or candle holder (even if you don’t light the candles), so here’s an elegant carved tealight holder to tempt you from the new range at John Lewis.
Made from smooth marble, in the shape of a bird, it would be a lovely item to use to create a centrepiece or add atmospheric light to a room in the evening.
Even when not in use we can see it working equally well perched on a mantlepiece or sitting on a shelf in a room of your home.
The carved marble bird tealight holder is reasonably priced at £15.

We’ve been keeping our eyes on Achica this week, as they’ve had some good deals on homeware. Amongst the goodies, they currently have an offer on Nigella Lawson products that runs until 7am on Saturday 27th August. Here are some of the deals we like the look of.
 Blue appetiser bowls
This set of five mini appetiser bowls, which come on a matching blue plate, would be great for serving dips or nibbles in when entertaining. It’s been nicely designed so there are indentations on the platter, so the bowls fit in place with ease and won’t wobble around when you’re carrying it.
The blue appetiser set is normally £42, but is on offer at Achica for £26. The same set is also available in cream or black for the same price.
 Salt and pepper piglets
A stylish alternative to salt and pepper grinders, this pair of piglets on their small stand will helpfully store your salt and pepper and it keep it to hand for cooking or dining.
Usually priced at £18, they’re now on offer at only £11.
 Nigella cake stand
Everyone needs at least one cake stand, but if you hate them being too fussy, then this cream cake stand is simple and stylish. The pedestal design will help your cake stand out on the table when you’re serving it and it can accommodate a cake up to 9″ in diameter.
You can save £8.50 off the usual price of this cake stand by taking advantage of the Achica offer – it’s now only £13.50.
Other offers currently running for a limited time on Achica include PiP Studio, Karlsson, Salter Kitchen, Botanico, Sharp TV and cinema and KARE Design, so take advantage of the deals while you can!

 Techno bin
The Sense bin is no ordinary kitchen bin.
This clever bin makes full use of infra-red technology, so it can sense when you’re approaching it (hence its name) and the lid automatically lifts for waste disposal. All you have to do is hover your hand within 10cm of the lid and, voila, it will be ready and waiting for your rubbish.
The 50L slim line hardwearing bin is perfect for use in a kitchen. It’s made from non-corrosive iron and finished in a smooth and glossy powder coating. We particularly love the striking colour of the glossy yellow, but it’s also available in turqouise blue, black or stainless steel.
The usual high street price for the Sense bin is £110. However, for the next five days you can take advantage of a special offer at Made.com and buy the bin for only £49.

 Stylish butterfly hooks
There are lots of very nice hooks on the market at the moment, but some of the butterfly themed ones can be a bit too girly, pink or pastelly.
These ones get over that problem very effectively, as they’re an all over black design. The butterflies have been intricately cut, so you see all the detail on their wings, and the noir works beautifully against a white or cream wall.
Use them as stylish coat hooks, in a bedroom or even in the kitchen, to hang tea towels from.
The set of three black butterfly hooks are available from Urban Outfitters, for £9.

 Stylish monotone lamp
It’s amazing how the base of a lamp can totally change its look. If this one was just a plain colour, it would probably be very easily missable, but the striking cream and black design draws the eye in immediately.
The cream base is made of ceramic and is decorated with a lovely black design, and it’s accompanied by a plain black faux linen drum-style lamp shade.
For a stylish lamp that will turn heads - for all the right reasons – and provide some essential light in a dark corner, then this Felicity table lamp is £65 from Very.

 Graham and Brown Chrysanthemum wallpaper
One of the current trends in home interiors is monochrome, or black and white. As with any trends, if you want to go the whole hog and transform a room in your home into a haven of monochrome, then it will certainly look great.
But if you’re not looking to totally re-decorate a room, then there are still plenty of ways in which you can get the look from making a few simple changes, or adding decorative accessories.
Here are five practical ideas to help you get the monochrome look in your home.
1. Make a Feature Wall
Creating a feature wall in a room is a great way of making a statement. In a lounge, for example, you could create a feature wall above the fireplace or in any alcoves you have, or in a bedroom it could be the wall above the bed.
With the monochrome look, there are a wide variety of stunning black and white wallpapers on the market, which provide an instant statement.
