Contemporary designer chair by Terrence Conran

Conran glove chair

If you’re going to spend a sizeable sum on a piece of designer furniture, that you want to last long into the future, then it’s beneficial if you can also customise your purchase to meet your needs.

The glove chair by Conran is a classic example of an occasional chair that is both stylish and practical. Designed by Terrence Conran, the chair is made from a moulded fibreglass shell which is upholstered on the front. It sits on a spun steel base and has swivel and tilt mechanisms for the ultimate in comfort.

Whilst many stores sell the glove chair in standard finishes, at Darlings for Chelsea, you can customise your glove chair purchase a bit more by choosing from a wide range of fabric choices. There are patterned and plain fabrics in a rainbow of colours, but bespoke options are also available if you can’t quite find your perfect fabric.

Desugn your own bespoke lampshade

Desugn your own bespoke lampshade

Sometimes finding the perfect lampshade to fit in with your colour scheme, design or decor ideals is jolly tricky, but this clever idea from Duffy London could solve the problem.

They’ve put together a self-assembly kit which lets you customise and design your very own lampshade.

The lampshade itself is ready made and is suitable for either pendant lights or floor standing lamps.

The outside layer of the shade is sticky, so all you have to is stick your desired design on it. It could be photos, strips of wallpaper (to match your walls) or even fabric.

It all sounds very easy and, at only £10 for the do-it-yourself lampshade kit, it’s cheap enough to have a go and experiment with.

The lampshade kit is available to purchase from Bouf. Why not have a go?
