 Wall mounted floating shelf
We’ve featured floating shelves before, but here’s another take on it – a floating drawer.
The Pacco floating drawer benefits from the same shelf storage capabilities, providing a useful storage place for favourite books, a vase of flowers or a place to keep your mobile, but the shelf has the added benefit of a concealed drawer.
 Hidden drawer
It’s nicely designed, is slimline and compact and comes ready to mount on your wall. Its size makes it ideal for using in small rooms or hallways, where you don’t have loads of space for a big piece of furniture, but could do with a shelf or drawer for storing little things.
For example, if you don’t want a cumbersome bedside table, then the drawer works well as a contemporary bedside shelf. If you need somewhere in your hall to store keys, but don’t want keys left out in view hanging on a key rack, the drawer could be mounted on the wall and used as a key drawer.
The Pacco floating shelf was designed by Samuel Ansbacher and is handmade from solid birch plywood. It’s available from Mocha, priced at £59.99.

 Designer side table
We’ve been on the lookout for a stylish and practical side or occasional table recently, but some of the options available are frankly rather underwhelming. Then we found the glycine side table, which is most definitely not underwhelming and ideally suited to a contemporary home.
Designed and made in France by Drugeot Labo, the angular design of the glycine side table gives it a distinctive and contemporary look.
The table is made from oak and the space under the top provides a useful area where magazines or books can be stored (just slot them in). There’s also a small drawer included and room on top to display favourite home accessories, stand a lamp or keep free for occasional needs.
As well as being functional for use in a living room or hallway, the table would also make a great bedside table.
The glycine oak side table is new in at Heal’s and costs £495.

 Modern gloss bedside table
This modern gloss finish bedside table provides the look and style of a gloss finish, but without some of the usual limitations.
The drawers are finished in a lovely burgandy gloss finish, but the surround of the bedside table is in larch. This means that everytime you put something on the top of the bedside table, or touch it, you won’t leave behind fingermarks, as you would with a fully glossy finish. It’s also nice to have a pale colour mixed with a contrasting darker colour.
The table is part of the modular bedroom range at Space2, which also has pieces in black gloss, but you can easily use it as a standalone piece on its own.
The two drawers are finished off with long silver handles and the whole piece measures 51.2cm by 50cm by 44cm in size.
The burgandy bedside table is avilable from Space2 for £109.
