It’s unusual to find basin sinks with much of a design around the outside of them (so many are plain), but Roca has produced some eye-catching designs with its Urban range.
Each of the modern square basins is decorated with a black and white urban city scene – choose from Barcelona, Berlin, New York or Shanghai – featuring the iconic landmarks best associated with each city.
The Roca Urban countertop basins are in stock at the Big Bathroom Shop. They’d be stunning in a bathroom, or even used in a kitchen.

Contemporary roll top bath
Did you know that Next sell bathrooms? It’s easy to miss, as their bathrooms are sold via a separate link to their usual site, but it’s well worth a look if you’re planning on updating your bathroom or ensuite.
There’s something about large freestanding baths that is utterly appealing – they feel more luxurious to use and look very elegant in a bathroom.
This contemporary jacuzzi Asti roll top bath is a modern version of a traditional claw footed freestanding bath. The bath is a lovely shape, with curved sides to aid comfort and taps and a plug in the middle. The elegant design is given a touch of extra shaping with a subtlely scalloped edge on the side panel.
The jacuzzi Asti roll top bath is available from Next Bathrooms for £799. In addition to individual items for the bathroom, Next Bathrooms also sell a range of bathroom suites at affordable prices.

Bali square counter top basin
Modern square basins can sometimes be a bit too angular and stark, but not this one.
This modern square counter top basin from Victoria Plumb has been designed with curved edges that help soften the cubed effect and create an elegant basin. It has a single mixer tap in the middle (although you can choose your own tap designs) and is designed to be mounted on the top of a counter or surface in a bathroom.
Amazingly, the Bali counter top basin from Victoria Plumb is priced at only £39, which seems very good value.
If you love unusual sinks, then why not also take a look at the stunning Brianna art glass vessel sink that we’ve previously featured.

Brianna art glass vessel sink
The days of standard, boring bathroom sinks are well and truly over and it’s now possible to find some lovely sinks that fit in with a vast range of home designs. One of the more unusual sinks on the market – and one that can’t help but get noticed – is the Brianna Art Vessel sink.
The elegant and eye-catching Brianna Art Vessel sink features a free-form glass sink mounted on a chrome pedestal. If you’re worried about the practicality of having a glass sink, it’s good to know that the glass is made to be resistant to scratches, stains and chemicals.
It’s a lovely design and very different from the usual sinks you find in homes, so if you’re looking for something to wow your friends, this could be it.
The sink is made by JSG Oceana Decorative Glass and is available in a choice of 12 colours.
