Stunning baroque mirror
We love this large black baroque style mirror that we found on the Chic Boutique Interiors website.
It looks great simply propped up casually against a wall, but it would look equally stunning hung from the wall.
It measures 114cm by 168cm in size and costs £275 from Chic Boutique Interiors.

Glass flower dish
This beautiful glass dish is handmade in a lovely magnolia flower shape. Measuring 18cm in diameter, you can clearly see the petals of the flowerhead and the centre of the bloom and it’s been nicely finished off with a subtle gold shade.
It would look lovely on a shelf, windowsill or table, left empty or filled with sweets or nibbles.
You can buy the magnolia dish from ZiggiZiggi, for £13.50.

Increase your privacy
We recently had an email from Elaine asking if we had any ideas for increasing privacy in an overlooked window of her home. As it’s a rental property, she can’t change the window - the landlord wasn’t keen on a blind being put up and she doesn’t like net curtains.
One practical way that we’ve come up with for dealing with the problem is to use frosted glass film. It’s easy to use, and can be removed again without leaving unwanted marks, and produces an effect on the window like frosted glass. It’s a good way of adding a bit of extra privacy to glass windows or doors and won’t cost a fortune to do.
You can buy frosted glass film in various shops and DIY stores and it comes in rolls of different sizes and lengths. Brume, at Not On The High Street, has this plain frosted glass film available in a 1m or 2m roll.

- Special crystal bowl
I’ve previously only associated Aspinal of London with luxury leather goods, but did you know they sold other home items too?
Take this crystal decorative bowl, for example. It’s not any old average bowl, but is a special piece made from clear crystal glass with a sterling silver base.
It’s not cheap, but it is hand crafted and, for a special occasion, it would make a very nice home gift. Measuring 13.75″ in diameter, the bowl is the ideal size for a fruit bowl.
The crystal glass and sterling silver bowl is available from Aspinal of London.

Etched tea light holder
This lovely glass tea light holder, by Sagaform, is etched with a pretty stem pattern – not unlike Orla Kiely’s classic stem designs.
The holder is 15cm tall, so can comfortably hold a tall candle or a small tea light and it glows beautifully when lit.
Buy the Sagaform candle holder from Illustrated Living, for £12.95.
Don’t forget, you can still take advantage of our special 10% discount with Illustrated Living for all purchases made until 31st December 2009.

With their nicely rounded edges, and tactile curves, they’d look great on a table in your living room, or used packed to the brim with sweets and nibbles at a party.
The ultramarine blue glass is just one of the options available – you’ll also find the same design in clear, grey, sand and turqouise blue.
Buy the bowls from Skandium

This cheery green cut glass tumbler has been livened up with the addition of a carved butterfly design.

Fused glass art
These fused art pieces are really stunning. They come in a range of colours and sizes, are made up of cleverly fused glass and have a sturdy oak base.
They’re a simple, but very effective, piece of contemporary art to have in your home.
If you don’t fancy any of the colours on offer, they can design pieces to your sepcifications, so you can choose the colours that would look best in your home.
Prices for the fused glass freestanding art, including the blue, white and aqua striped one shown here, start at £22 for small (13cm x 14cm), rising up to £42 for a piece measuring 13cm x 34cm.
You can buy them all, and browse lots of other gorgeous glass art products, at Glass Inspirations.
