 Glass table lamp
We love this elegant ombre table lamp, from Next.
The glass base is the eye-catching part of this lamp - it’s nicely shaped, but goes from a deep teal colour to a light blue. It’s accompanied by a faux silk teal shade, although you could replace this for a lighter colour if you wish.
The lagoon ombre table lamp is available from Next, where it’s priced at £35.

 Glass flower dish
This beautiful glass dish is handmade in a lovely magnolia flower shape. Measuring 18cm in diameter, you can clearly see the petals of the flowerhead and the centre of the bloom and it’s been nicely finished off with a subtle gold shade.
It would look lovely on a shelf, windowsill or table, left empty or filled with sweets or nibbles.
You can buy the magnolia dish from ZiggiZiggi, for £13.50.

 Increase your privacy
We recently had an email from Elaine asking if we had any ideas for increasing privacy in an overlooked window of her home. As it’s a rental property, she can’t change the window - the landlord wasn’t keen on a blind being put up and she doesn’t like net curtains.
One practical way that we’ve come up with for dealing with the problem is to use frosted glass film. It’s easy to use, and can be removed again without leaving unwanted marks, and produces an effect on the window like frosted glass. It’s a good way of adding a bit of extra privacy to glass windows or doors and won’t cost a fortune to do.
You can buy frosted glass film in various shops and DIY stores and it comes in rolls of different sizes and lengths. Brume, at Not On The High Street, has this plain frosted glass film available in a 1m or 2m roll.

- Special crystal bowl
I’ve previously only associated Aspinal of London with luxury leather goods, but did you know they sold other home items too?
Take this crystal decorative bowl, for example. It’s not any old average bowl, but is a special piece made from clear crystal glass with a sterling silver base.
It’s not cheap, but it is hand crafted and, for a special occasion, it would make a very nice home gift. Measuring 13.75″ in diameter, the bowl is the ideal size for a fruit bowl.
The crystal glass and sterling silver bowl is available from Aspinal of London.
