 Ocean themed spoons
For those that love the nautical trend in interiors, then here’s another fab way of bringing the theme into your home, this time through a great seat of spoons.
The neptune spoons, which come as a set of six, feature ocean-related designs, such as a shell, starfish and fish. Each silver plated spoon is different and measures between 12 and 14cm long.
The spoons are nicely produced and would add a quirky touch to a table. Use them for dessert or for eating ice cream on a hot day – they’ll remind you of being beside the sea.
You can purchase the neptune spoons from Buy the Sea for £21.95.

 Mediterraneo salad servers
I’m on the hunt for some new salad servers and rather like the look of these, as they’re a bit unusual.
The Mediterraneo salad servers were designed for Alessi by Emma Silvestris and are made from stainless steel. The cutwork designs on both pieces mimic the idea of swirling seaweed.
It’s a really nice touch that the cut-out section of the spoon matches the shape of the head of the fork.
The salad servers come boxed, so would make a nice gift, and are available from John Lewis.

We love adding a bit of fun into our homes and are rather fond of cutlery that you can mix and match. You don’t have to use it everyday, but when you need a bit of cheering up, eating icecream with a colourful spoon, or tucking into a meal with your favourite knife and fork can liven up a dull moment.
Emma Bridgewater have added a whole load of new designs added to their cutlery range, including knives, forks, tea spoons and dessert spoons in spots, stripes and daisy designs. The colours include red, yellow, green and blue and each piece is available to purchase individually.
This is perfect if you just fancy one spoon in your favourite design and also allows for mixing and matching to your hearts content, rather than ending up with colours or designs you’re not so keen on.
Matching pieces of cutlery are also available in smaller sizes, suitable for children.

 Spotty salad servers
Somewhere inside this very pretty packaging is a pair of red spotty salad servers.
They’re made by Green Gate and the handles of the salad servers are decorated in a cheery red with white polka dots. As they’re packaged so nicely, they’d make an ideal gift, or a lovely treat for yourself.
The salad servers are sold by Camel and Yak, for £20 per set.

Turn the key - and open the walnut
Cracking open the shells of nuts is something I always associate with Christmas, but I’ve recently discovered that our nutcrackers have mysteriously broken.
Walnuts are often tricky to open with conventional nutcrackers, due to their bulky size, soI love the idea of this walnut key.
The key is designed to cleverly slot into the groove on the top of the walnut shell and allows you to ‘unlock’ and open it up. It looks easy to use and less cumbersome then traditional nutcrackers.
The walnut key is available from Cox and Cox for £6.

 Crazy Daisy cake slice
We love the Crazy Daisy range of ceramics and crockery by Portmeirion – they’re fresh, modern and funky.
There are a lot of lovely pieces in their range and a relatively new edition is this great cake slice.
The handle is decorated in the Crazy Daisy design and it comes in a presentation box, which also features the floral design.
It’s ideal for lovers of cake, but at £8.75, it would also make a great gift too. You can find it for sale at Beth Stevens.

 Six jewel colour spoons
I’ve been looking for some new and fun tea spoons (I’ve had a few for a while with patterned handles, but after a lot of use the pattern is wearing off) and love these ones, from Cox and Cox.
They’re available in a set of six and come in the jewel-like colours of pink, purple, blue, green, red and yellow. They’ll add a definite touch of colour to your table, or would be great to use when serving tea or coffee.
The set of six colourful spoons is £22 and they come in a little gift bag, making them ideal for giving as a gift too.
