Bold, lively and striking, these contemporary patchwork cushion designs by Suzy Newton are bursting with colour and energy.
Each cushion is made from a creative mix of quality fabrics, including cotton, velvet and woven fabric from brands such as Designers Guild, Harlequin, Blendworth, Zimmer & Rhodes and Lindwood fabrics.
A number of different designs are available, including square and rectangular shaped cushions. We love the look of the stripe effect of the Stri patchwork cushion, the summer pastels of the Past cushion, the mix of florals and textured fabrics in Che and the butterfly design in the Ness cushion.
All of the cushions come with a luxury feather inner, have concealed zips and bonded linings, giving them a firm structure that helps the cushions hold their shapes.
They’re a great example of contemporary patchwork designs and are cushions you’ll love to admire and use. Check out Suzy Newton’s shop on Bouf.

Love Alice in Wonderland? Celebrate and share some of the best quotes from the book, with this Alice in Wonderland themed cushion.
From the bold wording, “We’re all mad here,” to classic phrases such as, “We called him tortoise because he taught us,” and “You’re nothing but a pack of cards,” the front of the cushion is adorned with a newsprint style collection of favourite quotes from the novel.
It’s handmade and created by Vintage Designs Reborn and can be purchased as just a cover (so you can use it as a replacement cover for an existing cushion) or complete with an inner pad.
The Alice in Wonderland quotations cushion, and other designs based on quotes and lyrics, can be be purchased from Not On The High Street.

Our love of cushions is no secret and if you’re looking for a quick and relatively inexpensive way of updating a tired looking living room for spring, then changing your cushions is always a good bet.
New cushions can help introduce different colours to a room, add patterns, tone with an existing colour palette and freshen up the look of a sofa.
If you’ve already got cushions in use and the cushion pads are still in good shape, then rather than buying a whole new cushion, an easy way of saving money and updating your room for less is to simply invest in new cushion covers.
There are a wide variety of cushion covers available from high street retailers, with covers typically costing between £8 and £15 each. Or, if you’re a dab hand with a sewing machine and have found fabric you love, you could even have a go at making some yourself.

Your favourite biscuits….as cushions
If you’re on a New Year health kick and thought you’d have to give up biscuits completely, then perhaps you could think again – as these little beauties have a tasty biscuity look without any calories!
We’re loving the look of the iced pink party ring design biscuit cushion, but if jammy dodgers, custard creams or chocolate bourbon biscuits are more your cup of tea, all these are covered too.
The biscuit shaped cushions are available from Lisa Angel Homeware and Gifts via Not On The High Street, and currently have 15% off the usual price.

One of the many fab designers we spotted at the recent Decorex International 2012 event was Niki Jones.
Niki is keen to create beautiful home products using as many traditional crafts and methods as possible and this really shines through in her designs. But if you thought traditional crafts mean a lack of fresh, contemporary designs, then you’re most definitely wrong.
We particularly like the round design of Niki’s concentric cushion covers, which have a bold and modern striking design. The design is embroidered and finished off around the edge with handmade pompoms.
The concentric cushion covers are available in a choice of three colourways – chartreuse green on dove grey, dove grey on white or slate on natural linen, and can be purchased from Niki Jones.

The shops are awash with London 2012 themed homeware, but if it’s textiles you’re after, then you must check out Jan Constantine’s products.
British designer Jan was awarded an official license to manufacture London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic home textiles and has produced an eye-catching array of red, white and blue patriotic products that will help you retain memories of the games long after they’ve finished.
The patriotic cushions are made in linen and embroidered in wool, with bold London 2012 emblems. They’re now on sale at the Olympic Park London 2012 Megastore, online from the London 2012 shop or via Jan Constantine’s website.
A percentage of the sale of each product goes towards the cost of staging the Olympic Games.

We’ve seen foxes appearing in interior design and home decor products for a while and have previously featured fox plates and cushions.
If you weren’t quite sure whether foxes are for you, here’s another fox design that might sway you!
This fab cushion is designed in the shape of a fox’s head (he looks a bit of a cheeky chap!). The cushion is made from felt with lovely applique detail and would be a fun and cosy cushion for the young or young-at-heart.
The fox cushion is in stock and available to buy from Hunkydory Home, for £16.95.
