 Index style chopping board
We love this Joseph Joseph index chopping board set and now’s a great time to buy it, as there’s a big discount on the product at House of Fraser.
The chopping board set consists of a storage case with four colour-coded chopping boards in it – each has it’s own index tab, so you can easily tell which is which. It’s a great way of ensuring that each chopping board is used for chopping certain foods, like raw meats or vegetables, and their uses aren’t mixed up.
The white Joseph Joseph index chopping board set was £42, but is now down to only £24 at House of Fraser. Buy it before it sells out!

 Natural olive wood board
Olive wood is said to be the ideal wood choice for chopping boards, as the natural oil in the wood can kill off bacteria.
Another major bonus is that olive wood products, such as this one, are often creatively carved to show off the natural grain of the wood, making it decorative as well as practical.
This particular chopping board - which can also double up as a cheese board – is hand carved from a single piece of wood and measures about 40cm by 20cm.
No two are exactly the same and the slightly wonky edges and unusual shapes add even more character.
The board is finished off with wax and oil and is available from Natural Med on Amazon, for £16.99.

Funky retro leaf print bread board
This has got to be one of the funkiest bread boards we’ve seen!
Bread boards are so often made of wood, a bit boring and practical, so it’s a really pleasant change to find one that’s so funky.
The board measures 38cm by 17cm, is made from hardboard and covered with a protective melamine coating. The retro print is in shades of chocolate, turquoise, orange and pink and it comes packed in a decorative cotton tote bag, which you could use for your shopping.
The funky retro leaf bread board is made in Sweden and can be purchased from Caroline McGrath for £25. If you don’t want to use it to cut up bread, then it can easily double up as a placemat or chopping board for cheese or other foods.

 Recycled cardboad chopping board
This black chopping board looks stylish and looks like it could be slate, but amazingly it’s made from 100% recycled cardboard.
Yes, cardboard – we couldn’t believe it either. We first spotted it featured on Nest Goodies and were so intrigued that we had to check it out for ourselves.
The recycled cardboard has been compressed to make the chopping board and the end result is heat resistant, stain resistant and colour resistant. The non-porous material won’t mean that bacteria can be harboured in the board (one of the issues that often concerns me about some chopping boards) and they say it won’t blunt your knife either.
As far as recycling goes, this is a great use for old cardboard and a very practical eco product to own. Once you’ve finished with it, it can be recycled again.
The chopping board is available in three sizes, with prices starting at £9.95, and you can buy it from EcoCentric.
