 Useful seating It’s the last week of the furniture sale at John Lewis and there are still some good reductions to be had.
If you’re looking for garden seats, or want to stock up on a few good quality, but inexpensive, chairs to have at hand when you need extra seating, then these garden dining chairs are a good buy.
Available in a light mocha (pale brown) shade, these contemporary dining chairs are made from steel, with a coloured powder coating. The chairs come fully assembled, so there’s no tricky DIY to manage, and they stack for easy storage.
As well as using them for outdoor gardening, the chairs would be really useful for extra seating indoors too. They’re £20 from John Lewis.

The M&S summer sale has started today this morning, with up to 50% off a huge range of products, including lots of homeware and furniture.
Amongst the bargains, we spotted this chunky round chopping board for £5, a cute garlic storage pot for £3 and a stripy Mardi Gras garden parasol reduced to £35 (from £75).
There are lots more good buys, including glasses for 25p and table lamps for £3, so we’d recommend heading off and starting a bit of bargain hunting at M&S!

 Bargain pans On special offer for one day only – or until stocks run out – is this great five piece stainless steel pan set, from M&S.
Usually priced at £25 for the set, today it’s reduced to only £15, which is great value for money for a kitchen staple. It would also be an affordable saucepan set for students.

Vases come in all shapes, designs and sizes, but one of the trendy shapes we’re currently rather fond of is the handkerchief vase.
The bottom of the handkerchief vase is typical of a standard vase, but from the middle upwards, the changes are very apparent. The design is curved and creased, just like a crumpled hanky would be, which results in the top of the vase being swirly and nicely shaped.
The style of the vase makes it look great simply perched on a shelf, but it’s equally good when filled with flowers too, not least as there are all sorts of fun grooves for stems to lean on, making flower arranging more creative.
A number of shops have handkerchief vases in stock, in a variety of colours, and it’s worth shopping around to get a good price. At John Lewis, a 30cm handkerchief vase in lime green is priced at £25. The same size handkerchief style vase at Bhs, available in a choice of turquoise, pink, clear or black, is £15. We know which we’d go for.

Habitat currently have quite a few home accessories and furniture reduced in price, including these two Wilson lamps.
They’re made from matt glazed ceramic and available in a choice of white or black. We rather like the fact that they’re a bit of an unusual shape, which gives them a modern edge.
The Wilson table lamp base (it comes as a base only, so you can supply your own choice of lampshade) was priced at £35, but each is now down to £28.

 Gorgeous velvet floor cube We love this handy velvet floor cube from M&S – it’s great for use as occasional seating and makes a comfortable footstool too.

 Index style chopping board We love this Joseph Joseph index chopping board set and now’s a great time to buy it, as there’s a big discount on the product at House of Fraser.
The chopping board set consists of a storage case with four colour-coded chopping boards in it – each has it’s own index tab, so you can easily tell which is which. It’s a great way of ensuring that each chopping board is used for chopping certain foods, like raw meats or vegetables, and their uses aren’t mixed up.
The white Joseph Joseph index chopping board set was £42, but is now down to only £24 at House of Fraser. Buy it before it sells out!
