 Patchwork bench
Ooh, we’ve just spotted this patchwork bench by KARE Design on offer over at Achica and it reminds us of the fabulous (and now hard to find) Kimono bench we featured a few years ago.
The KARE Design bench is the same shape and style, but with dark legs, and is upholstered in a similar patchwork effect of multicoloured vintage fabrics.
It’s a great design, quirky and colourful piece and a useful extra seat for your home, especially as it could work in so many rooms.
The patchwork bench is on offer at Achica for a very limited time, priced at £149 (usual price £299).
Update: If you missed this offer, but want to buy the bench, you can find other retailers here. Plus, the patchwork bench is also available from I Love Retro on Bouf, priced at £269.

 Pigeon mugs
These quirky pigeon mugs are designed by Kirsty Thomas, who runs the Lovely Pigeon studio.
The earthenware mugs feature Mr or Mrs Pigeon (she’s the one with the fluttering eyelashes), each peeking curiously around the side of the mug.
The pigeon mugs are available to buy individually for £8 each, or you could treat yourself to a pair for £15.
If you like the design, then a Mr Pigeon tea towel is also available for £8 from Lovely Pigeon.

 Lomme bed
Meet the Lomme bed!
The unique and creatively designed Lomme bed is made in an egg-shaped, pod-type design. The bed was created by Polish designer, Agneiszka Bernacka, after two years of research in sleep habits, problems and therapies.
Of course, it’s not just any old bed and doesn’t just look nicely designed – it incorporates a number of special features, including light, colour, sound and comfort to create the perfect sleeping environment.
The light aspect is in the form of a light therapy alarm clock, where you go to sleep with a gradual sunset and wake to a created sunrise (a bit like a giant Lumie bodyclock).
There are also colour therapy lights within the bed, so you can change the colour to suit your mood or embrace the idea of colour therapy healing. An iPod is cleverly installed within the bed, to provide you with music to listen to as you go to sleep or wake up, and there’s a built-in massage system too, to ease all those aches and pains.
Not surprisingly, the Lomme bed doesn’t come cheap. It’s currently priced at £33,000 from Bouf.
One can but dream…!

This tiny little match case may be small in size, but it’s a great little design and is full of storage potential.
It’s based on an original 1900 patented waterproof match case and is made from nickel plated brass, by Peter Buchanan-Smith’s company, Best Made.
As well as being the perfect size for storing matches in, it’s also a useful case for storing other tiny items in that you want to keep safe at home and out of sight – like coins, notes, rings or other small valuables.
It’s not only small in size, but small in price too – at only $9 it’s very affordable.

 Dragon lamp
As the Chinese Year of the Dragon has now commenced, here’s a fabulous modern dragon lamp to light up your home.
The striking lucite base of the polished nickel lamp is adorned by a large porcelain bisque dragon. The lamp comes with a black linen shade.
If you own any other menagarie animals by Jonathan Adler, then these can be interchanged with the dragon, which is a nice added touch.
The dragon lamp is available to buy from Jonathan Adler’s online store.

 Oval stainless steel slow cooker
Slow cookers are a brilliant invention and perfect for this time of year, when you want something warming and comforting to eat when you get home from work.
They’re perfect for making delicious and healthy stews and casseroles, bolognese, curries, soup and more.
This Morphy Richards 6.5L oval slow cooker is a great buy, especially as it’s currently half price at Amazon and now only £25.
We have the same model and it’s been extremely well used in our household and has a great capacity. It’s a good size for a family, or for anyone wanting to cook more than you need, so you can pop extra portions in the freezer for those days when you’re in a hurry and want a quick and easy meal.
The oval stainless steel slow cooker has three cooking settings – low, medium and high – a sturdy base unit, with a large inner crock pot. What’s more, even after a long and slow cook, it’s easy to clean.
The size of the slow cooker is large, but it does fit easily in a decent sized kitchen cupboard, or can be left out for regular use on a worktop (a smaller 3.5 litre model is also available).
