Heart design trivet
Silicone pan stands are incredibly useful to have in the kitchen (we’ve got three and use them all the time), as you put them on the work surface and stick any hot pans or plates onto them.
This Love pan stand, designed by Setsu and Shinobu Ito for Guzzini, features a rather funky design made up of lots of intertwined hearts. The silicone is thick enough (1.5cm) to ensure your worktop surfaces remain unharmed, whatever you put down on it.
The Guzzini love pan stand is £12.90 from Red Candy. If you like the design, there are lots of other matching items available too, including a placemat, glass tumblers and Guzzini love place settings.

Wow factor clock
Italian designers Diamantini and Domeniconi are renowned for producing amazing clocks (like their modern funky striped cuckoo clock that we’ve featured before) and the ‘&’ design wall clock is another fantastic example of their work that I’d love to have on my wall.
The & clock is as much a piece of wall art as it is a functional timepiece. The 70cm diameter clock is made from two pieces of cutwork, lacquered metal – one in white, and one in grey – and was first designed and created for Diamantini and Domeniconi by Juan Carlos Viso in 2008.
The cutwork design looks very effective and is based on the idea of infinite patterns, that go on and on, without seeming to end.
The Diamantini and Domeniconi & clock can be purchased at Mooch (it’s made to order), where it’s priced at £185.
For more details about the design and a complete list of all the Diamantini and Domeniconi clock designs, have a look at their website.

Ever wished you didn’t have to walk downstairs? Well, with one of these creatively designed staircases, you don’t have to walk – you just slide!
What a fantastic idea they are and very cleverly designed, so that both of the slides are in keeping with the design of the stairs. As well as sliding down them, you could also send down your washing via the slide or anything else you have no desire to lug down the stairs.
I love the wooden spiral slide staircase (although, being practical, I wouldn’t want it positioned next to a glass window, just in case of accidents), but the straight slide works very well next to a standard, straight staircase too.
In fact, the second slide staircase was designed by London architect, Alex Michaelis, on the request of his children and is one of the funky additions in the eco-friendly home he built. As well as enjoying sliding down the slide, his kids also have an indoor pool and rock climbing wall, which sounds amazing!

Contemporary roll top bath
Did you know that Next sell bathrooms? It’s easy to miss, as their bathrooms are sold via a separate link to their usual site, but it’s well worth a look if you’re planning on updating your bathroom or ensuite.
There’s something about large freestanding baths that is utterly appealing – they feel more luxurious to use and look very elegant in a bathroom.
This contemporary jacuzzi Asti roll top bath is a modern version of a traditional claw footed freestanding bath. The bath is a lovely shape, with curved sides to aid comfort and taps and a plug in the middle. The elegant design is given a touch of extra shaping with a subtlely scalloped edge on the side panel.
The jacuzzi Asti roll top bath is available from Next Bathrooms for £799. In addition to individual items for the bathroom, Next Bathrooms also sell a range of bathroom suites at affordable prices.

Salt and pepper birds in a tree
Move over boring salt and pepper grinders – hello novel salt and pepper shakers!
Nothing you add to your dining table need be boring any more, as there are some wonderfully designed contemporary accessories available, like this unusual Pip salt and pepper duo by Koziol.
The black and white birds are the salt and pepper shakers and, by the power of magnets, they perch on the branches of the accompanying green recycled plastic tree.
Sure to grab attention at your dining table, this would look equally novel displayed on a work surface or shelf in your kitchen.
You can also buy the bird salt and pepper shakers on their own, without the tree, for £13 from Exit Interiors on Amazon.

Jan Constantine design candle
One of the popular ranges by British designer, Jan Constantine, is her Union Jack inspired homeware pieces (we’ve featured some of her cushions before, for example).
Now that same iconic design has been transformed into a china votive candle holder, by leading ceramicist, William Edwards. The essence of Jan’s original stitched designs shines through in the china version, especially with the visible inclusion of her blanket stitch trim around the edge of the design.
If you love Jan Constantine’s designs, then this would be a lovely addition to add to your home.
The Jan Constantine Union Jack candle is £12 from We Love British (and postage is only £1.75).
