 For film buffs, perhaps?
Lights….camera….action!
There are some lovely new products for the autumn waiting in the wings in many stores and we couldn’t resist bringing you a preview.
This quirky photo frame is based on the idea of a clapperboard, as used in making films. It will be available from The Contemporary Home and is very well priced at only £6.99.
It’s not yet in stock on their website, but is due in the autumn, so keep an eye out for it.

Would you choose one of these stools to go in your home? Do you love the design or loathe it?
The ceramic Bonze stools are part of the Xo range by designer Philippe Starck. Possibly not to everybody’s taste, the sculptural piece with a face in the base doubles up as both a stool and a small side table. It’s been produced in a range of colours, including platinum, gold, black and red, with the shiny finishes of the gold and platinum being quite glitzy and decorative.
You’ll probably have to really love the Bonze stool to buy it, as it’s not cheap. The black and red versions are £578, the gold is £644 and the platinum will set you back £693.
You can find out more about the Bonze stools, or buy one, at Made in Design.

 Colourful doormat
It’s not the most sexy item to buy for your home, but unless you want muddy or wet feet trailing through your home, you need to have a doormat.
A lot of doormats are boring and unappealing, but thankfully this is one doormat that we think you might like. The eyecatching design has three large floral blooms on it, in shades of pink, red and purple. In fact, it looks a bit too nice for muddy feet to stand on.
To get this doormat in front of your door, head on over to Graham and Green, where it’s priced at £22.50.

 Useful seating
It’s the last week of the furniture sale at John Lewis and there are still some good reductions to be had.
If you’re looking for garden seats, or want to stock up on a few good quality, but inexpensive, chairs to have at hand when you need extra seating, then these garden dining chairs are a good buy.
Available in a light mocha (pale brown) shade, these contemporary dining chairs are made from steel, with a coloured powder coating. The chairs come fully assembled, so there’s no tricky DIY to manage, and they stack for easy storage.
As well as using them for outdoor gardening, the chairs would be really useful for extra seating indoors too. They’re £20 from John Lewis.

 Stainless steel bowl and spoon
Serve olives in style, with this stainless steel olive bowl and matching spoon. Designed by Culinary Concepts, the 6″ bowl is lovely and shiny inside and comes ready to use with a spoon, with a trademark knot on the top of the handle.
Although it’s designed to be used for olives, the bowl and spoon set is the perfect size for serving a variety of nibbles or condiments in. As it comes gift boxed, it would be a perfect homeware gift to give as a present. Even when not in use, the bowl would make a stylish decorative accessory.
You’ll find the Culinary Concepts olive bowl and spoon set available from Beth Stevens, for £36.95.

If you love wall art sculptures, but also need some practical storage in your home, then meet the Fold shelf.
This clever design combines an impressive three dimensional wall sculpture with a useful shelf, that can be used for storing books, home accessories, CDs or DVDs.
The unusually shaped Fold shelf is made from a single sheet of powder coated metal that has been laser cut and hand folded along perforated cuts. The crisp edges of the shelf expose the perforations, which produces a trendy stitched detail effect.
One shelf used on its own on a wall is effective enough, but you could combine several shelves to form unusual sculptures and art on your wall. You can even choose which way up you position it, for maximum design and creativity.
The Fold shelf comes with everything you need to fix it safely and securely to your wall and is available to purchase from the Hidden Art shop.
