 Colander in four colours
You don’t often come across square colanders - they’re predominently round - so it’s a pleasant surprise to find these square ones at Pedlars.
Made of acrylic, the colanders have a very useful handle, which can be hooked over the sink when draining pasta, rice or vegetables.
The colander is 21cm by 21cm and is available in a choice of four colours - red, white, green and black.
Find them at Pedlars, where there’s currently 20% off in the sale.

At this time of year, there are a multitude of calendars to choose from, but so many are dreadfully twee and uninspiring.
If you’ve not yet found your perfect calendar and are looking for something a bit different, then we’d recommend having a look at what’s on offer at Zazzle.
They specialise in one-of-a-kind, print-on-demand products, and they’ve got a great range of calendars, created by some of the world’s best artists and up-and-coming individuals.
Here are three of our favourites.

This funky calendar from internationally acclaimed Thaneeya McArdle features images from her original drawings and paintings. This a calendar full of colour and the images are drawn from influences such as abstract, whimsical, photorealism and psychedelic.
The cover shot, shown above, is a riot of colour, but it’s worth going to look more closely at the images for the months of the year, as you get to see a really good mix of Thaneeya’s artwork.

Despite being descriped as autumn, the images on this colourful calendar are not autumny all the way through!
The calendar was created by Glemelin and portrays images of digital art.

Carnival in Venice is by Bulgan_Lumini and features a collection of watercolour and mixed media paintings, all inspired by Carnival in Venice.
The artist suggests that, at the end of 2010, you can take the calendar apart and frame the images as artwork to keep in your home.

 Etched tea light holder
This lovely glass tea light holder, by Sagaform, is etched with a pretty stem pattern - not unlike Orla Kiely’s classic stem designs.
The holder is 15cm tall, so can comfortably hold a tall candle or a small tea light and it glows beautifully when lit.
Buy the Sagaform candle holder from Illustrated Living, for £12.95.
Don’t forget, you can still take advantage of our special 10% discount with Illustrated Living for all purchases made until 31st December 2009.

 Not just any old dish...
With their nicely rounded edges, and tactile curves, they’d look great on a table in your living room, or used packed to the brim with sweets and nibbles at a party.
The ultramarine blue glass is just one of the options available - you’ll also find the same design in clear, grey, sand and turqouise blue.
Buy the bowls from Skandium for £13 each.

 Unique hanging decorations
For something different to hang on your Christmas tree this year, how about these vintage chocolate mould decorations?
You wouldn’t know it to first look at them, but they’ve been upcycled from redundant chocolate moulds and made into unusual hanging decorations. The decorative shapes of the moulds suit the purpose well and it’s a very clever idea.
A mixed bag of five of these unusual decorations is available from Patchwork Harmony for £6.95.
