Turn the key - and open the walnut
Cracking open the shells of nuts is something I always associate with Christmas, but I’ve recently discovered that our nutcrackers have mysteriously broken.
Walnuts are often tricky to open with conventional nutcrackers, due to their bulky size, soI love the idea of this walnut key.
The key is designed to cleverly slot into the groove on the top of the walnut shell and allows you to ‘unlock’ and open it up. It looks easy to use and less cumbersome then traditional nutcrackers.
The walnut key is available from Cox and Cox for £6.

We’ve featured lots of wall stickers before, but this one goes one step further.
Designed in the famous shape of Big Ben, this giant wall sticker provides more than just a decorative form of wall art – it’s a working clock, too.
The elaborate sticker comes with a working clock face with quartz movement, with black metal hands, and operates on one AA battery.
If you’ve not got room for a full-size grandfather clock, but have got a suitable area of wall free (you’ll need 295mm x 2000mm), then this could be the perfect solution.
You can buy your very own Big Ben at Funky Little Darlings, for £120.

As wall art goes, this three panel metal butterfly creation is very effective.
The dark metal panels, which measure 76cm in height, are decorated with copper blossomed tree branches and metalic butterflies.
There’s a lovely element of depth to it and the butterflies almost look like they’re about to fly away.
It’s a stunning piece and the metal panels give a modern feel to it.
You can buy the butterfly wall art from Belle Home for £95.
December 2010 Update:
We’ve had a few enquiries about this product, as it now appears to be out of stock at Belle Home. Alternatively, you can also buy it from Brilliant Wall Art on Amazon or from White Candle, for £89.95.

The International School of Colour and Design in Australia have created this fun design style quiz, to help you pinpoint what your interior home style is.
It’s easy to use and involves dragging your favourite items over to one side of the screen. It’s not all based on which home products you like best, but also on your personality, the colours you like and what your favourite activities are.
We took the test and it came out with the result that our style personality is a New York loft (probably pretty accuate) - what’s yours?

 Stunning window panel
If you want to feel like you’re living in the leafy countryside, when you’re actually based in the heart of a city, then this window panel could help virtually transport you.
Made from 100% silk, the window panel features a lovely fresh green leaf image with the sun shining through it, and it’s been digitally printed onto the silk.
It’s designed by Ella Doran (the same person that designed the smarties worktop saver we featured recently) and the standard size is 130cm by 245cm. It’s also available as a blackout roller blind too or you can have a particular silk panel size made for you.
To get this leafy backdrop in your window, you’ll need to part with £145 over at Ella Doran’s shop.
